As Product Specialist, you will be embedded within our payroll engineering and product teams to ensure we’re taking industry best practices and domain considerations into account. Additionally, as a subject matter expert you’ll coordinate closely with our Payroll Compliance team to make sure any legislative changes are accurately reflected in our platform.

You’ll have a direct impact on Namely’s business by informing our product roadmap and spreading domain knowledge through our Labs organization.

Responsibilities

• Help align our payroll engineering and payroll compliance team to make sure the Namely Payroll platform is compliant
• Collaborate and review with payroll compliance tax release notes impacting Namely Payroll
• Attend weekly compliance meetings for updates, feedback and delivery action items
• Spread payroll domain knowledge throughout the organization including, but not limited to, industry practices, competitive intelligence, and compliance 
• Periodically review tax changes with the payroll compliance team and translate said changes into specific engineering updates
• Serve as an expert resource to the entire organization and provide further research when necessary

Requirements

• 8 or more years experience working in the payroll and tax industry
• Familiarity with a major payroll platform
• An ability to learn Namely’s payroll platform and run test payroll
• Experience coordinating work across multiple teams
• Strong ability to communicate how tax or compliance requirements would need to be translated into the Namely Platform
• Humble spirit with a go-getter attitude

Nice-to-Haves

• Knowledge with SQL
• CPP or FPC certification
• Experience working with engineering teams
