As Director of Product, Enterprise you will both define the product strategy and drive the tactical roadmap execution that supports our growing Skillshare for Teams B2B / Enterprise business line, as well as related key strategic business development and partnerships projects. We are expecting these business lines to grow extensively in the coming year and beyond, and you will be a key teammate to help us take our collective Enterprise efforts to the next level.


In this role, you will work alongside our sales and partnership teams, and develop a holistically designed B2B product suite, supported by key technical integrations and related customer experiences. Your deep and continual understanding of competitive B2B platforms in the education space will help Skillshare’s emerging Enterprise product grow in the market. As both a technician and tactician, you will identify key priorities for B2B product growth, develop data-driven strategies that grow the business, and define clear roadmaps positioned to unlock value. Success in the role will involve making Skillshare For Teams attractive and accessible to a wide range of B2B and Enterprise customers, as well as assuring that our current customers continue to utilize Skillshare For Teams within their organizations.


Also in this role, you will be a key consultant for business development projects that position Skillshare alongside key brands and creative firms in our industry. You will identify requirements and build solutions that allow our strategic partnerships to unlock broader awareness of Skillshare worldwide.


Skillshare is poised to grow significantly over the next few years and you’ll help lead the charge. We have a successful consumer business and we are expanding into more B2B spaces as it continues to grow. You need to be comfortable pushing for a product vision while assuring that all stakeholders are in sync along the way. Most Importantly, your product investments must fit optimally in the market and show impactful business value. We’ll look to your expertise in building customer-centric products, technical know-how, and your ability to work seamlessly with teams across the company, champion our platform’s learners, and drive real engagement impact as the company scales.

What you'll do:

  • With the VP of Product and the Head of B2B /Enterprise, based on company OKRs and product organization strategies, continually develop the vision for Skillshare’s B2B /Enterprise platform; Provides input for company-level strategic planning
  • With market and stakeholder inputs, make decisions that influence the direction of the product area
  • With the Head of Partnerships, consult and provide requirements for business development and partnership projects
  • Effectively communicate the vision of the Skillshare B2B product line and related roadmap to senior leadership
  • Work in an integral partnership with foundational and product engineering, and data in reaching goals and delivering both business impact and sales growth
  • Partner with Product Design to identify B2B customer value propositions, solutions, and potential user experiences that can be researched, tested, and evaluated in-product
  • Work closely and collaboratively with content, operations, brand, growth, subscriptions & payments, and marketing teams and develop a B2B customer-centric roadmaps
  • Develop and maintain a continual understanding of B2B competitors in the market, and identify where Skillshare can innovate & pull ahead
  • Lead the B2B / Enterprise product pod - a pod is a team that consists of engineers, designers, and data experts, and they execute on a tactical roadmap aimed to grow an area of the business; the pod team works with key cross-functional teammates from partner departments to collect inputs to inform development, and to provide outputs that impact the business area at large
  • Develop and maintain a prioritized items on the roadmap that aims to increase and improve B2B / Enterprise customer sales, activation, engagement, and retention; Partner with product manager peers to assure a consistent experience across the B2C web and apps platform
  • Work closely with our UX Research and Sales teams and understand user pain points within the product, and position feature requests towards impactful product upgrades; Alongside these teams, define B2B / Enterprise customer research needs that can help inform sales opportunities and product development efforts
  • Work alongside Engineering to define technical and user-facing requirements for the development of specific B2B platform microservices, APIs and related integrations
  • Write user stories, specifications, manage project execution, data feature validation, analytics event confirmations, design, run & interpret A/B tests, wireframe, and define product roll-out strategies
  • Manage JIRA tickets, plan sprints, and assess team efficiencies and overall development velocity
  • Manage projects with partners and customers, identifying specific product needs and ensuring adoption

Why we’re excited about you:

  • Preferred 8+ years of experience as a dedicated B2B and/or Enterprise product manager; High level of experience building technical integrations or APIs
  • Ability to oversee a rapidly growing area, potentially with direct reports. Role is individual contributor; Ideal candidate is also capable of managing teams.
  • Strong executive-level communication skills
  • Proven ability to establish rapport, credibility and influence amongst stakeholders and cross-functional internal teams to drive results
  • Coordinate sales related business operations with technical teams, advanced understanding of integrating with other 3rd-parties: Marketing automation, website, CRM, etc.
  • Strong technical / technical integrations background and ability to have collaborative, in-depth technical discussions with engineers
  • Expert knowledge of the Single Sign-On and related API integrations
  • Expert knowledge of the LMS ecosystem and eLearning API standards
  • Ability to clearly articulate strategy and requirements to executive stakeholders, partner product managers, product designers, engineers, data analytics and business partners
  • Experience coordinating projects with customer and partner organizations
  • Possess strong decision-making and prioritization skills; have experience overseeing and managing complex technical roadmaps
  • Proven ability to identify, analyze, and solve ambiguous problems with extreme attention to detail
  • Strong analytical abilities and data intuition
  • Preferred experience having used e-learning or other continuous learning products
  • Experience deriving and presenting insights to business leaders
