As a Senior Product Manager for Search and Personalization at Skillshare, you will collaborate with partners across multiple teams within Skillshare to drive alignment and define projects to improve upon and evolve our personalized user experiences to the next level. You will plan and implement improvements to search across Skillshare's web and apps, and lead changes to that define a cross-platform strategy with the goal of creating a best in class, unified, and contextually relevant Search experience. You will also form consensus on how personalization can better the Skillshare user experience at large, including search, browse, and other logged in touch points. Scope of oversight will include both customer-facing features and back-end capabilities.

This team is poised to grow significantly over the next year and you’ll help lead the charge. We’ll look to your expertise in building consumer-facing products, technical know-how, and your ability to work seamlessly with teams across the company, champion the user, and drive real impact as we scale. 

What you’ll do:

• Work closely with engineering, product, and design leaders to develop ongoing technical product strategy and roadmaps
• With Engineering and Data teams, develop and execute the strategy that further develop Skillshare’s Search and Personalization products, owning the strategy and working with cross-functional pod teams that build and ship the work
• Collaborate and coordinate related technical product implementations that affect Search and Personalization across the overall Web and App product experience
• Align related scheduling and timelines, working in coordination with area product managers (Core UX/Discovery/Learning, Mobile, Growth, Subscription & Payments.)
• Write user stories, specifications, manage project execution, data feature validation, analytics event confirmations, design, run & interpret A/B tests, wireframe, and define product roll-out strategies
• Process, review and interpret large bodies of qualitative and quantitative data on customer usage patterns to uncover new product insights

Why we’re excited about you:

• Senior-level technical product management experience or equivalent
• 3+ years of hands-on experience working on search and/or personalization products for large-scale companies; Experience with marketplace or eCommerce platforms a plus.
• Past experience that may also be acceptable: Senior-level Technical Program Management, or Engineer.
• Self-directed and operationally minded with a strong technical background in search and/or personalization technologies.
• Strong technical background, including knowledge of frontend, backend, infrastructure and web & mobile application technologies, and experience in an agile environment.
• Strong analytical abilities and data intuition
• Deep understanding of what drives modern day search user experiences using data services.
• Strong communication skills
• Proven ability to establish rapport, credibility and influence others to get results across a cross-functional internal teams.
• Ability to clearly articulate strategy and requirements to stakeholders, product managers, engineering, data analytics and business partners.
• Possess strong decision-making and prioritization skills; have experience overseeing and managing complex technical roadmaps.
• End to-end experience designing & implementing and monitoring & evaluating search and/or personalization systems, with proven ability to collaborate with data & engineering teams on designs, evaluation and iteration.
• Strong technical background, including knowledge of frontend, backend, infrastructure and web & mobile application technologies, and experience in an agile environment.
