What this role is about: 

The RapidSOS team is looking for a driven Senior Product Manager to help us build the RapidSOS platform that connects relevant IoT data from mobile devices, cars, homes, wearables, and other nodes directly to emergency response centers and first responders. By providing robust and rich data to 911 and emergency responders directly from mobile and connected devices, RapidSOS will enable a faster and more effective response that will protect communities and save lives.

The product team at RapidSOS is focused on solving problems in ways that delight users, while also driving results for our business. Those solutions need to be valuable, viable, usable, and feasible. As a Senior Product Manager, you will directly ensure solutions are valuable and viable, and partner with Design to ensure they’re usable and Engineering to ensure they’re feasible. You’ll thrive in this role if you enjoy working on strategic challenges as well as technical implementation details.

What you’ll do: 

• Work with key (internal and external) stakeholders to create detailed product roadmaps, present priorities, roadmaps and timelines to internal stakeholders and successfully deliver working software

• Understand market dynamics and identify customer challenges that represent significant market opportunities for RapidSOS

• Collaborate with product, engineering and target customers to gather requirements, understand dependencies and deadlines, and identify risks and opportunities

• Write and maintain user stories in a tracking tool throughout the entire software development life cycle

• Work with UI/UX and Engineering teams to successfully deliver working and valuable software with an understanding of dependencies, deadlines, risks and opportunities

• Effectively communicate new product launches - through written communication, as well as presentation and training formats - to all relevant stakeholders

• Identify and lead areas in which the Product team can take ourselves to the next level, whether it be from a process or product perspective

What we’re looking for in our ideal candidate: 

• Bachelor's degree; MBA a plus

• 3+ years of experience in an Agile B2B software product development environment

• Comfortable making tough decisions with minimal (if any) guidance, particularly in scenarios where information is scarce

• Proven ability to synthesize market segment (user) needs and pain points in a concise way and translate them to an effective product roadmap

• You’ve clearly demonstrated your effective communication skills in a variety of settings and with various stakeholders, both internal and external

• Proven track record for being detail-oriented and highly organized, with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects

• Strong sense of urgency and a mindset for ruthless prioritization

• Innate curiosity and hands-on approach with an attitude that no task is either too big or small
