We seek a high functioning user advocate rockstar to join the Product team at Knewton. You will prioritize and drive key initiatives supporting Knewton alta, our direct-to-consumer product. This vital role is responsible for a critical component of Knewton’s growth strategy.

You will take a metrics driven approach to identify objectives and drive key results while collaborating with Knewton’s senior leadership, sales & client services, product, engineering, content publishing and data science teams. This lynchpin role requires consideration for long-term product quality, customer and end-user satisfaction. The position calls for a detail-oriented team player with a strong drive to deliver innovative solutions and processes that result in improved learning outcomes for students.

Responsibilities:

  • Own multiple product areas within Knewton alta, and serve as the subject matter expert on goals, challenges, needs and wants of users
  • Explore the problem space, interact with customers, formulate a vision and maintain the roadmap for your product areas
  • Define, monitor and improve metrics that align with business objectives
  • Identify product areas that need further development to achieve company’s business objectives
  • Create hypotheses, proof of concepts (wireframes), gather user feedback and analyze implementation feasibility with engineering
  • Manage sprints, delivery timelines and cost benefit analysis
  • Key player in cross-disciplinary discussions related to the development of our product with a deep understanding of what works with regards to user experience and educational platforms and content

Requirements:

  • 3+ years in product management role or 4+ technical integrations/pre-sales or consulting roles
  • Computer science or Engineering background (MBA a plus)
  • Strong track record of analyzing user needs and formulating clear and concise technical requirements for engineering and/or data science teams
  • Superb skills in taking complex, open-ended problems and distilling them into elegant and straightforward solutions, as well as articulating the distillation process to diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain lasting cross-functional working relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to apply business thinking in steering feature sets for technically sophisticated products and tools, including ability to create and track financial and business metrics and ability to conduct cost/benefit analysis
  • A passion for or appreciation of practical use of technology in education or more generally practical use of technology in improving people's’ lives
  • Up to date and thorough understanding of technology landscape
  • Preferred: Startup experience
