The Role: 

The Senior Product Manager will own the exploration (browsing) and onboarding experience components of Newsela’s product. You will lead product strategy development and partner with the key stakeholders across Technology, Design, Data, Marketing, and Sales to develop cohesive product goals that align with our overall organizational goals. You’ll be deeply involved in user testing and research to help inform the product roadmap. Drawing on your knowledge of the technical architectures and content systems, you’ll also guide and challenge the technology solutions we build, and will advocate for and effectively prioritize content production work. Additionally, you’ll play a role in outlining and executing on our data optimization efforts, product pricing and positioning strategy, and overall work management of the cross-functional teams you’re leading.

You’ll get to work closely with our content product managers who define our portfolio learning, and will partner across the organization with GTM and Technology teams to influence strategy and execution of work. You’ll also be able to grow and develop your own team. 

Why We’ll Love You: 

You are a creative, methodical product manager with 5+ years experience building, refining, and optimizing a digital product ecosystem. You clearly and convincingly use data to make smart decisions about where to focus in order to achieve product goals, particularly in content-heavy experiences, with exploration of content and user onboarding. You have a deep understanding of content eco-systems and user behavior in navigating and exploring content (bonus if in the EdTech space), including familiarity with content production processes and needs. You’re a flexible, effective communicator, able to fluidly translate product needs and insights across technical, operational, design, and leadership audiences. You also are an expert project manager, able to outline and execute clear project roadmaps, manage a team to deadlines, and grow and upskills your team.
