As the first Senior Product Manager at Mixlab, the friendly custom veterinary compounding pharmacy startup, you’ll have an amazing opportunity to lay a new foundation for a platform that creates a delightful end-to-end experience for veterinarians, our pharmacists and pet parents. This is an ambitious role for a detail-oriented, self-starting Product Management leader who wants to play a key role in our future success as a leading pet care company.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Own our product development processes:

  • Translate product strategy into an actionable roadmap
  • Work with engineering, UX and design to deliver a great product
  • Facilitate communication between different teams throughout the development process
  • Write stories and product requirement documents
  • Manage sprints, projects, resourcing and timeline
  • Prioritize tickets while managing and communicating trade-offs to CXO
  • QA and approve features before release
  • Manage releases - write release notes, coordinate release timing, communicate updates to employees, and help train them if necessary
  • Manage and help debug bug tickets
  • Manage and track feature requests
  • Partner with UX, design, and engineering to define KPI’s, user needs, and features to deliver a delightful product
  • Track performance and present data analysis to CXO
  • Work closely with UX to conduct research, create user flows, personas and perform user-testing

Own our product strategy:

  • Provide insights into product, technology and market trends
  • Work directly with CXO, CEO, National Director of Sales and VP of Ops to define goals and manage progress
  • Manage software integration with partners
  • Translate and execute product roadmap for our multiple platforms and tools
  • Assist in onboarding employees onto internal platforms and tools
  • Run retrospectives with the digital team and present report to CXO

ABOUT YOU:

  • You have worked 5+ years in a product management role
  • An engineering/technical background preferred
  • You have the ability to work on multiple products at a time, and determine product prioritization, while managing trade-offs by collaborating with internal stakeholders and understanding user feedback
  • You have experience using agile methodologies to deliver products and technologies
  • You have experience in developing both systems and processes at scale
  • You have excellent communication skills whether it’s with internal teams, customers, or partners
  • You are humble - you are constantly looking to improve and ask for help when you need it
  • You are resourceful – you are a self-starter and know how to figure things out
  • You are reliable – you take pride in your work and gets things done
  • You are based in New York and are comfortable coming into the office at least a few days a week for work (even in today’s day and age - we are an essential business!)
  • You are able to work effectively remotely
  • You have experience working with an off-shore engineer team
  • You L-O-V-E pets and share our passion to provide better, personalized care for all pets
