Who is MANTL?

MANTL is a fast-growing NYC-based FinTech SaaS company on a mission to build technology that will help America’s financial institutions and their communities thrive. Think Shopify or Squarespace, but purpose-built for community banks and credit unions. We are drastically changing the landscape through modern banking software that empowers banks and credit unions to grow digitally.

Our flagship product, Online Account Opening, is considered best in class in our industry, due to it’s material performance beyond any of our competitors. Suffice it to say, our customers love MANTL.

Since launching our first product in 2017, we have built several new products, thoughtfully grown the team, and have become a market leader.

Who makes up our team?

People are our most important asset and the number one reason we all love working at MANTL. As a team, we value accountability, transparency and collaboration. We have agile teams, with clear, outcomes-focused goals.

We’re a group of passionate technologists with backgrounds spanning across engineering, product, and design. We support an open and transparent culture that helps foster productive and engaging discussions. We want to work with inclusive people who understand the importance of treating their colleagues exceptionally well - people who will gladly go out of their way to help others with things big and small.

We are always a work in progress and love hearing feedback from our team.

Technical Product Manager Overview

The Technical Product Manager will be joining our Platform team, which is backend focused and responsible for building out all of the underlying APIs and services that power the MANTL ecosystem of products. This team also owns our most crucial 3rd party integrations. This is a huge year for this team as we are shifting away from a monolithic architecture towards microservices. This means there is a huge opportunity for ownership, growth and greenfield development. Last but not least, it's also our largest team, staffed with some really amazing folks.

What You'll Do

  • Own the evolution of our product lines through research and thinking deeply about the banking industry, where it is today and where it is going, and designing our APIs to continuously stay ahead of the curve
  • Collaborate with leaders across the organization, from product and engineering to finance and operations, to ensure cohesion between your products and the overall product experience
  • Work with a team of passionate and product-minded engineers to maintain system integrity and performance through effective pre-launch planning of new features, as well as post-launch monitoring and support
  • Drive outcome-focused execution knowing with confidence that what matters most is how the product impacts our customers and our business

 Must Haves

  • 5+ years in product management, specifically within an agile environment and working with backend focused teams that maintain APIs used by multiple downstream applications
  • A strong technical background through software engineering/relevant technical experience
  • A track record of building industry leading API products that enable fluid and rapid development of new features and functionality as the needs of the customer and business evolve
  • Ability to work with complex business requirements, and translate to technical terms for development teams
  • Ability to communicate complex technical problems into non-technical terms for stakeholders
  • A penchant for becoming a subject matter expert (SME) in what you are tasked with solving, and finding ways of infusing that knowledge throughout the organization
  • An obsession for working on large and complex systems where every piece impacts another, and where you enjoy making them as simple and elegant as possible
  • A strong bias towards proactive action and urgency that is made possible by a deep understanding of the overall system and your team's goals
  • Proficiency SQL and Developer Tools, such as Postman
  • Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, and Service Desk

Nice to Haves

  • Background in Finance, FinTech, or Banking Software
  • Experience working at a venture-backed startup
