Staff Product Manager, Optimization
Who We Are
Yieldmo is an advertising technology company that operates a smart exchange that differentiates and enhances the value of ad inventory for buyers and sellers. As a leader in contextual analytics, real time technology, and digital formats, we create, measure, model, and optimize campaigns for unmatched scale and performance. By understanding how each unique impression behaves and looking for patterns and performance in real time, we can drive real performance gains without relying on audience data.
What We Need
Yieldmo is looking for an experienced Product Manager with multiple years of industry experience focused on bringing data science-driven optimization products to market. This role will own Aeros, the intelligent engine behind our Privacy-First Marketplace, and which powers all of our curation and optimization capabilities. Aeros is the major differentiator for our company, it drives our unique position as a large exchange with proprietary measurement offerings. The person hired into Yieldmo for this role will work cross-functionally with science, ad serving, exchange infrastructure, data, deals and campaign management teams. You will have a relentless focus on discovering, automating, and scaling novel ways to drive performance for advertisers and publishers.
Who We Are Looking For
These are directional examples designed to illustrate the kind of person we want, not necessarily requirements for the position:
- You have a voracious curiosity about human behavior and consumer psychology
- You have strong empathy for colleagues and customers who have dozens of campaigns to manage, all of which require flawless performance benchmarks, leaving no budget unspent
- You believe that intelligent systems can save the internet by providing good enough performance to advertisers to drive advertising prices upwards
- You find the challenge of helping content publishers get more monetization value out of their inventory, which keeps good content free, an endlessly fascinating and noble pursuit
- You are constantly writing down a backlog of ideas to test out, validate, and productize
- You can dive into a campaign’s targeting and setup to quickly find 3 or 4 optimizations that unlock more value, then immediately jot down ways to plug these manual insights into a more scalable, automated, AI-driven system
- Auction theory and machine learning are true interests of yours, but you know they are “over a lot of people’s heads.” You can translate their benefits into clear and compelling business value
- You love working day-to-day with world class data scientists and data engineers to build massive scale systems that change industries
- You love weaving narratives out of data to show value to customers and secure buy-in from company leadership and stakeholders
- You’re as comfortable writing a SQL query to help make a decision with less accessible data as you are distilling compelling insights for a polished client presentation
You will be an end-to-end product owner, from concept → execution → rollout, and you’ll work with stakeholders and customers to develop our go-to-market plans.

- Own the roadmap for performance optimization and related analytics and reporting features for a global, massive scale advertising technology platform
- Manage a detailed backlog of all important features and capabilities, work closely and regularly with a working team of stakeholders across business and technology teams to keep your backlog fresh for an ongoing continuous planning process, and drive alignment across teams
- Work closely with data scientists to continually improve advertising effectiveness, often incrementally, but sometimes in game changing leaps
- Develop deep understanding of internal product offerings and external adtech ecosystem workflows, finding opportunities for performance optimization
- Evangelize results internally and externally. Your team’s success will be among the most visible and motivating in the company.
- Secure buy-in on go-to-market strategy and product differentiation approaches
- Effectively balance feature work across your own roadmap with those of your peers and colleagues needing support from your feature area in order to launch their features
- Define requirements for new technology and work with numerous stakeholders and cross-functional engineering teams to successfully build and launch your features
- Make an effective case for resources and lead trade-off discussions with product and engineering leaders on where we should be investing and why

- Naturally possess nuanced, proactive communication and relationship building skills with stakeholders & across teams
