The VP of Product will be a user-centered and data-driven product leader with a passion for delivering high-impact and engaging experiences for customers - internally and externally. As a key executive, s/he will help drive the product strategy, product management, design and [data] to realize the vision of Transfix’s platform for shippers, carriers, drivers and key partners.

The ideal candidate has demonstrated proven success in developing and leading product strategy, product management, design, pricing and planning with a world-class team. S/he is a strong leader who has the ability to zoom in and out quickly to identify business opportunities, prioritize high impact initiatives and ensure quality execution, and is exceptional at bothing leading teams and collaborating with executives and key leaders across all functions of the company, namely engineering, sales, marketing, operations and finance. 

The VP of Product will report to the CEO and work closely with other members of the executive team to drive product and data strategy, execution and innovation.

What you'll do:

  • Drive Transfix’s strategic and competitive position through product development to transform the industry. Be the domain expert on transportation and logistics technology and products in the market and act as a key partner to executives and customers. 
  • Own Transfix’s product strategy and planning in collaboration with the executive and leadership teams. Help define a product portfolio vision and strategy in a high-growth environment and market.
  • Develop and oversee the execution of the company’s product roadmap to drive revenue growth, user engagement and increase market share. Own management of the roadmap and product KPIs including feature prioritization and scoping/resourcing in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Own the data strategy that powers the Transfix platform - developing mechanisms to capture and structure relevant data, drive holistic intelligence and applications for the business and customer products - from pricing to operations to Saas.
  • Lead discussions and planning on third-party integrations.
  • Ability to understand the needs of various stakeholders in and outside the organization and be the product and customer advocate
  • GTM and feature release planning in collaboration with product marketing. Post-release feature management - adoption, performance, and reiterations for release in collaboration with product marketing
  • Ability to move between business contexts, hire and develop leaders who can operate these with excellence, and build systems and cadences to manage outcomes
  • Build and lead a world-class, user-centered and data- and results-driven team. Drive excellence, continuous improvement and flexibility in the product organization, while simultaneously championing best practices for product and overall operations.
  • Serves as company spokesperson for product strategy with press, analysts and customers.
  • Provide ongoing communication re: major opportunities, changes in release capabilities/dates, and competitive, market and pricing impacts to the executive level

About you:

  • A product leader with 15+ years experience overseeing product management, design and data/analytics in high-growth B2B / B2C companies, with a strong interest in building data products.
  • Able to see where the market, competition and industry are going, and create a strong vision for where the product needs to be to win the market and delight customers, making Transfix the preferred choice. You possess financial literacy with an appreciation for what drives enterprise value.
  • Passion for building high-value products for customers to help re-imagine ways in which you can provide business impact to different constituents. The products you’ve built are innovative yet uniquely address opportunities others have not uncovered. 
  • You are a problem-solver and possess an entrepreneurial mindset, with a bias for action and ability to deal with ambiguity and rapidly changing environments. Startup experience is strongly preferred, entrepreneurial spirit a must.
  • Thrive in an environment where you can uncover opportunities, manage through unknowns effectively drive clarity of thought and purpose into your products.
  • Possess strong ability to connect and streamline multiple touchpoints and experiences across a user’s journey. You are the customer advocate and build with a focused, customer-led product design philosophy.
  • Possess excellent analytical skills with demonstrated experience in hypothesis-driven learning and turning data into actionable insights. You continuously demonstrate an ability to design tests, measure results, and analyze performance.
  • Effective at driving alignment across key stakeholders.
  • Comfortable rolling up your sleeves and building processes that scale.
  • Strong communication skills; You are transparent and seek continuous improvement. You are just as comfortable speaking to what’s worked as you are to failures and learnings.
  • An expert in Agile development frameworks.
  • You have built and scaled high-performing teams and constantly think about ways to enable and mentor your team members.

Transfix's NYC HQ is steps from the Oculus and Fulton Center, with access to subway train lines. We are close to tons of restaurants, shops. We are on the top floor so have wonderful light and breathtaking views, including a spectacular view of One World Trade from our outdoor rooftop deck!
