VP / Director of Planning

The VP/Director of Planning will be a strong partner to the executive team on business strategy & initiatives across all functions of the organization. Key responsibilities include: pre-season planning (budgeting, forecasting, managing overlap of old/new strategic shifts in the business), inventory management/OTB, and coaching and developing Planning talent. The ideal candidate will be a reliable cross-functional partner with a strong curiosity about the business and the industry. They will be a strong leader within the organization, setting an example of quality work, effort, and a forward-looking approach to the business. The candidate will be open to rolling up their sleeves and pitching in to tasks that span every level of the business. They will encourage ownership and accountability and operate transparently and with a sense of urgency. The candidate is proactive and intellectually curious, especially about how numbers can inform company strategy.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7-10 years of vertical retail experience with exposure to all parts of the business (Merch, Planning, Logistics, Finance, Marketing, Production, Wholesale)
    • Experience in both scaling an up-trending business and mitigating risk for a down-trending business
    • Experience launching new product/categories/tests without literal history
    • OTB management
    • Expertise in top down/bottom up forecasting
  • Strong systems & excel knowledge
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to dissect the business to understand and present a narrative with action-oriented solutions
    • Ability to organize data, apply analytics and synthesize findings into insights
    • Ability to put together thoughtful scenario work and modeling to inform decisions and develop solutions to real-world problems
  • Cross-functional team management experience

Preferred Experience &Qualifications:

  • Startup experience
  • NetSuite background and knowledge
  • Data systems exposure
