Thinkful is looking for an experienced VP of Product to join the leadership team and drive the value of a Thinkful education. You’ll build and manage a team of product managers responsible for identifying student, employer, Thinkful, and team needs and building products that reliably meet them. You’ll report directly to the CEO and work with the leadership team across departments. As Head of Product, you will dramatically impact the future of work by raising the ROI of a Thinkful education. 

A successful candidate will ensure that our products and services resonate across the market while driving the velocity of the product direction by executing across Thinkful to prioritize and meet product development cycles in collaboration with our technical and student-facing teams. 

For Thinkful to continue its rapid growth, we need to maintain our exceptional student outcomes and continuously increase the value of our programs to both students and hiring partners. You’ll define, plan, and execute on improvements to the entire learner and educator experience. Success is measured by core student metrics: enrollments, graduation rate, placement rate, mastery, and student satisfaction. Long-term you will ensure we are the premier tech career accelerator in the country.

Core Responsibilities:
 

• Own product vision, strategy, and roadmap
• Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing product management team
• Ensure that we have the right product velocity by working across the organization to ensure great outcomes
• Develop a productive and positive working relationship with designers, engineers, and stakeholders across executive, marketing, admissions, and education teams
• Measure and synthesize qualitative and quantitative feedback and share these findings back with the team; be the voice of reason, empathy and assertion for the Thinkful customer and internal teams
• Develop a deep empathy for our students and incorporate their needs into our products

A great candidate will...
 

• Have 8+ years of product management experience with proven track record of increasing responsibility, leadership & impact, at high-growth B2C businesses
• Have 4+ years experience managing and developing product managers
• Have experience developing and managing a category-winning product strategy 
• Have excellent communication skills, verbal and written, including an affinity for explaining product complexity with ease to different stakeholders
• Have the ability to be both a visionary and in the weeds when needed
• Be very organized, with impeccable attention to detail and relentless follow-through
• Have an entrepreneurial mindset: enjoys the challenge of a fast-paced, complex startup environment
• Be comfortable taking risks and being wrong and have shown others will still follow their lead after a failure
• Recognize the tone you set and the impact your actions have. You’re considerate and opinionated, but never rude or short
• Have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills combined with a strong business and technical acumen
• Have a strong bias for action and can break a complex problem into logically consistent smaller problems that can be solved and iterated upon quickly
