Position Mission:

The VP, Product is responsible for the overall success of our software products.. The VP, Product will report to the CEO and help shape and drive the future success of the company as the category leader in the market. You will work closely with our CEO and executive team to define product strategy, product roadmaps, and partner with engineering to properly execute on new product development. 

You’ll lead and manage a team of product managers and designers and collaborate closely with the engineering team.  

Responsibilities

Product Strategy 

• Partner with leadership (CEO, Executive team, Board of Directors) to define and communicate a clear and compelling product vision

• Define and prioritize product strategy to develop and execute a product roadmap

• Act as the key product expert and evangelist across the organization and act as a bridge between the business owners and engineering team

• Develop a deep understanding of our partners, and create processes to standardize the collection customer feedback

Product Management

• Develop, manage, and lead cross-functional product squads tasked with making measured progress towards business objectives

• Partner with product managers to prioritize product initiatives towards those objectives

• Implement qualitative and quantitative product discovery techniques that value rapid, shared learning of user needs and product solutions

• Grow and manage the product management team

• Foster a product culture that understands the importance of rapid testing, learning and iteration

Product Development

• Partner with engineering to implement product delivery techniques that value rapid and continuous delivery of validated product

Requirements:

• 8+ years of product management, 2+ years in product leadership

• Managing cross-functional, autonomous product managers 

• Outcome-based product development with measured success (OKR’s, etc.)

• Recruiting, managing, and coaching PMs

• Basic knowledge of multiple functional areas including Product Management, Engineering, UX/UI, Sales, Customer Support, Finance or Marketing.

• Techniques and processes for rapid, shared learning

• Customer empathy & user research

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Works well with all types of people, can relate to youth sports organizers

• Creative problem-solver, innovative thinker.

• Fast learner, self-motivated, detail-oriented.

• Be a teammate. Work well in conjunction with all team members across sales, product, and engineering
