As the Agile Program Manager and Senior Scrum Master, you will work closely with our development teams in strengthening our Scrum and Kanban practices while bringing visibility to progress. Your role is a partner to product management and engineering in the direction and growth of the development team and product development organization.

You will have a direct impact on teams and at the organizational level, helping to shape the Agile practice and culture across the product development group with plenty of teaching and learning opportunities.

About Your Contributions:

  • You will work with 2 to 3 cross-functional development teams in a Scrum Master or Agile Coach capacity (depending on the team’s maturity).
  • You will facilitate Agile ceremonies like daily stand-ups and retrospectives, as well as cross-team planning activities.
  • You will drive agility on your teams, facilitating the timely delivery of products and initiatives which delight users and stakeholders alike.
  • You will help teams to optimize the flow of work by removing impediments, running effective retrospectives, collecting and sharing metrics, and cultivating a culture of continuous improvement.
  • You will partner with product management and engineering leads to help create short- and longer-term roadmaps and release plans, bringing Agile project management expertise to team leadership.
  • You will work with the rest of the program management team to both streamline and improve processes within the product development organization.
  • You will help foster a healthy and collaborative team culture.
  • You will assess the Scrum maturity of the team and organization and coach the team to high performance, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization.
  • You will work with product management and engineering to identify and track dependencies across the full lifecycle of product development.

About You:

  • You are someone: communicative, facilitative, assertive, situationally aware, enthusiastic, continually improving, who values transparency, is able to foster a cohesive team culture, and strives to empower your teams.
  • You are well-versed in and a proponent of the Agile principles and manifesto and able to balance it with a drive to organize, plan and forecast, and being flexible enough to adapt practices to specific teams and the organization.
  • You have a strong understanding of the fundamentals of full lifecycle software development processes and procedures.
  • You have a strong ability to communicate in and outside the team on process and technical issues with peers and with executive stakeholders.
  • You have experience playing the Scrum Master role for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
  • You have experience with a range of tools, and can learn to configure everything from an index card to JIRA integrations.
  • You have 3+ years of experience as a project or program manager.
  • You have 3+ years experience as a Scrum Master for software development teams.
  • Experience, insight, enthusiasm, and ability to learn eclipses classroom learning and certifications.

An Insider's view of Dotdash Meredith

What projects are you most excited about?

Atomic design is in our DNA at Dotdash. We're striving to have the dev and design teams work closer together and use a single source of truth for how components are pieced together using predefined molecules and atoms. This is exciting and innovative work that is helping us scale at an incredible rate and deliver on our promise of fastest sites!

Brian

Manager, Front-End Development

How do you empower your team to be more creative?

We do quite a few things to encourage creativity like hackathons, design sprints, and "Unconferences". That said, I think the most meaningful thing we do is to encourage teams to be autonomous. Having control and ownership over their respective applications gives our team members the freedom to explore ideas to solve their own problems.
