The Role:

Newsela’s certification programs offer product training, inspiration, and professional development in approachable, embedded learning modules to thousands of educators worldwide each year. The Certifications Program Manager will be a critical addition to the User Engagement Marketing team and will be the internal champion and conductor of Newsela’s robust and beloved certification programs, from the design and structure of the certification offerings to promotion, success analytics and optimization. Working cross-functionally, this role will align our certification and credential offerings to product usage outcomes, customer success strategy, and user engagement program to create a best-in-class experience for teachers that provides the foundation for long-term customer and end-user value.

Why You’ll Love This Role:

In the first few months you’ll help us reimagine our certification and credentialing programs from the ground up, capitalizing on what teachers love most about Newsela and helping scale the program for the future. To build a program that meets our vision, you’ll partner with our BI and Data teams to define and measure success and impact across business objectives, with Product Marketing to ensure programs are aligned to any new features or products that we create, with Customer Success to deliver value to our clients, and with our Content and Learning teams to create learning experiences that impress and inspire teachers. Plus, you’ll work with counterparts across marketing to develop a vibrant community of skilled users and fans and communicate with them across channels, all the while knowing credentialed teachers are making a direct impact on the learning and lives of the students.

Why We’ll Love You:

You have experience creating or managing external learning or credential programs at other subscription-based companies, or direct experience training teachers to develop their utilization of classroom technology. You bring your experience working in a Marketing or Communication function and are equipped from day one to talk channel strategy, audience segmentation, user experience, and conversions (bonus if you have direct experience working in a marketing automation platform like Marketo). You’ve managed projects cross-functionally and effectively by keeping key stakeholders motivated and aligned on paramount project goals despite shifting priorities. You have the skills and acumen to assess data, set goals, monitor progress, and communicate success to executive-level audiences with confidence. And most importantly, you have a deep understanding and empathy for the critical job teachers play in our world and the important role technology plays in helping teachers, and you’re ready to bring that energy to work every day.
