We are looking for a Director of IT Governance to join our rapidly growing FinTech Company. The Director of IT Governance  is responsible for working with leaders in Engineering, IT, Operations and Security to guide the vision of how Information Technology enables Paxos in all areas - from development to marketing, from operations to design.  This role will implement strategic improvements to the broader IT Program which includes Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service, and Infrastructure as a Service. The individual will oversee IT vendors across procurement, third party risk management, and performance of SLAs.The individual will be deeply steeped in aspects of IT from hardware to software, ergonomics to updates, and will have a keen understanding of how our teams procure, onboard, and provision.

The Director of IT Governance will be responsible for IT governance, controls management, policies and procedures. This person will manage Paxos’s IT governance, including addressing Gramm-Leach-Bliley compliance, FFIEC cybersecurity and other applicable data privacy and information security standards and regulatory requirements. They will also be a stakeholder in Paxos’s Third Party Risk Management program responsible for vendor management, risk management and contingency planning. 

What you will do: 

• This position is responsible for strategic management of Information Technology
• Manage Paxos’s governance, including addressing Gramm-Leach-Bliley compliance, FFIEC cybersecurity and other applicable data privacy and information security standards and regulatory requirements
• Evaluate, recommend, and negotiate with new services and applications in order to meet organizational needs 
• Define, deliver, and support strategic plans for information technologies
• Monitor performance by conducting system audits of technologies used or implemented
• Lead procurement and provisioning for the organization in order to maintain continuity and avoid downtime
• Draft and recommend strategies, policies and procedures based on knowledge of compliance, regulations, and organizational review
• Execute program strategy within a prepared budget while analyzing variances and taking corrective action
• Present IT Program overview to external regulators or potential clients
• Ensure vendor performance meets SLAs
• Evaluate and track vendor risk and within an established framework for 3rd party risk management

What you need to have: 

• Familiarity with data privacy and security standards
• Experience in IT program strategy or management
• Work history within a regulated entity 
• An understanding of policies, procedures, and compliance
• Experience managing vendors and negotiating agreements
• Experience managing cross-functional projects with a focus on engagement with regulators, legal and compliance
