Job Description

The MSK Data Strategy and Ops team in the Technology Division is seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead data modernization initiatives to improve MSK’s data architecture, analytics and AI/ML capabilities. In this role, you will be responsible for vendor management, project planning, and managing and executing data modernization information technology projects from inception to completion. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about data and data projects to positively impact knowledge and decisions made throughout the organization in support of MSK’s mission to control and cure cancer.

 

You Will!

  • Lead multiple sophisticated enterprise data projects requiring coordination of internal and external resources and schedules
  • Build and maintain relationships across MSK and with outside companies that supply services to our organization
  • Ensure that vendors meet or exceed their contractual obligations by delivering quality products and services on time
  • Assign, secure resources, and document in detail all phases of a project
  • Constantly monitor progress on project plans by following-up on assigned tasks against the timeline to ensure the planned project completion
  • Establish and maintain appropriate protocols for all types of emergency situations

You Are!

  • Capable of building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions
  • A good decision-maker, with proven success in making timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward
  • An effective communicator, capable of understanding how best to reach different audiences and executing communication strategies based on that understanding
  • Able to work in an Agile environment that contains complex, sometimes contradictory information
  • Experienced within the project management field with 7-10 years’ experience, and a minimum of 2 years working in IT
  • Adept at planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals
  • Skilled at building relationships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives and goals
  • Resilient in recovering from setbacks and skilled at finding detours around obstacles
  • Having PMP or Agile training is desirable
