Position Overview: 

Rent the Runway is looking for a Merchandising lead to join the growing team at our Flagship Store location in NYC. As a Merchandising Lead, you will be the visionary behind our retail closet, while leading the presentation and inventory management. You will support both our front of house and back of house teams: creating the stage for customers to seamlessly access our revolving dream closet. As a Retail Associate, you will be trained on all aspects of the RTR brand as well as critical systems and tools and will have the opportunity to be exposed to various aspects of the business.

The Day to Day:

  • Effectively manages the in-store inventory processes: floor presentation, replenishment, quality control, store inventory requests, sizing representation

  • Implements and executes updates to floor presentation to create a shopping experience that is intuitive and efficient for customers

  • Proactively communicates with Retail Planning and Director of Visual Merchandising on product capacities, results of merchandising updates and customer satisfaction scores

  • Utilizes and analyzes key reports to support inventory related business decisions

  • Actively maintain store appearance; keeping merchandise fully stocked and organized while ensuring that the store itself is clean and well presented

  • Maintain up to date knowledge of online product as well as current store stock availability on the sales floor and backroom

  • Create enthusiasm for visuals presentations by inspiring, training and supporting peers

  • Conduct daily inspections of sales floor to insure all standards are in place

  • Leads communication with store team around all merchandise related initiatives

  • Act as a mentor and point person to the team by providing guidance, constructive feedback, and by demonstrating strong problem solving abilities in a customer facing environment

Qualifications:

  • At least 2+ years visual merchandising experience in the retail or any high touch customer experience business (depending upon the volume of the business)

  • Technically savvy and proficiency with MS Office; Outlook, Excel, Word

  • Strong analytical and communication skills - verbal and written

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to react to business trends and identify areas of opportunity.

  • Must be able to climb stairs in a multi level store

  • Must be able to work while standing and walking and be able to lift approx 20 lbs

  • Supplemental info: provide any other additional information (e.g. access to vehicle, ability to travel, etc.)

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule within a minimum of 40+ hours per week including nights, weekends and holidays
