MISSION

As a Merchandising Manager at SwagUp, you’ll have the exciting opportunity to join a collaborative, fast-paced team and help lead our efforts in merchandising! Our product catalog and vendor relationships are the backbone of SwagUp and foundational to why our clients look to us for their swag!

The Merchandising Manager position is responsible for curating products and defining the product attributes that align to our merchandising and sourcing strategy. You will own the overall performance of the assigned categories, including pricing, placement, vendor selection and product marketing. On a daily basis you will be looking for ways to improve our offering’s quality, aesthetic and operational efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsibility for product revenue and margin of assigned categories
• Leads our first-to-market merchandising strategy driven by client, market and retail trends
• Ownership and management of product assortment planning, vendor selection, product pricing, placement, positioning and promotional strategy
• Regular refreshes of product assortments

REQUIREMENTS

• Four-year degree or equivalent experience in retail buying or merchandising
• 4+ Years of product merchandising, retail buying or product management experience; eCommerce background preferred
• Retail buying, Fashion or Promotional Products industry experience preferred
• Ability to analyze and interpret a variety of data points to derive insight, make decisions and solve problems
• Ability to think strategically while executing tactically
• Highly aesthetic
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to partner across the organization and externally
• Flexible, resilient and comfortable working in “grey” areas that are ever-evolving
• Negotiation skills

• Fanatical about finding new, unique products that are relevant to our client base
• Development of curated assortments that are on-trend and high quality
• Ownership of all aspects of on-site merchandising of assigned categories 
• High degree of collaboration with the marketing and ecommerce teams to drive content, marketing and customer engagement
• Negotiates exclusive offerings, superior service levels. terms, pricing, marketing co-op, etc. in collaboration with the sourcing team
• Thinks like a business owner who constantly looks for new revenue and margin opportunities
