The Role

The Strategic Program Director will lead the charge in building strategy and programs to support Newsela’s Strategic Accounts sales targets in the K-12 education market. You will work closely with our Chief Customer Success Officer,  Chief Revenue Officer, VP of Sales, and Regional Sales Directors to build National Strategic Account strategy and programs that support pipeline growth. Drawing on your understanding of funding, state initiatives, demographics, standards of adoption, and the overall K-12 education landscape, you will  work with our Marketing team to develop and manage Regional and National action plans that enable our Strategic Account Reps to achieve their  quota. You’ll also work closely with our Sales organization to refine our forecasting and reporting, focusing on accountability and enhancing our predictive sales models.

Why You’ll Love This Role

You will get to help architect the future of K-12 education, enhance how districts and teachers engage students, and provide time-saving approaches that allow educators to design customized learning for different levels of learners. Your work will directly impact our ability to scale Newsela’s reach, bring our products to more educators and students, and enable accessible, engaging learning that empowers students. In addition to helping our Sales team achieve pipeline and revenue targets, you will get to work with an enthusiastic, cross-functional team to catapult Newsela’s growth as we scale our national Sales organization.

Why We’ll Love You

Your 10+ years of strategic selling and leadership experience lends itself to a track record of achieving monthly and quarterly pipeline growth and sales targets on the strategic accounts. You have successfully designed a strategic blueprint for strategic accounts and executed cross-functional strategic sales programs on strategic/enterprise accounts, ideally within the SaaS and or EdTech sectors. You also have a strong ability to forecast sales throughout the sales process and achieve high accuracy of deal closer timing. You are excited to build or continue strengthening your knowledge of the K-12 education  market, and are always learning more about the breadth and depth of the sector by keeping a  pulse on industry and regional trends.
