Program Delivery Principal

| Greater NYC Area

Solstice is an innovation and emerging technology firm that helps Fortune 500 companies seize new opportunities through world-changing digital solutions. As strategists and consultants, we help organizations evolve their digital strategy to solve mission-critical problems. As designers and developers, we build incredible software and hardware solutions that transcend a standalone product and transform an organization’s relationship with its customers. As instructors and coaches, we help companies transform from the inside out by adopting a high-speed culture of innovation. We’re strategists, researchers, designers and engineers hell-bent on changing the way the world does business. We’re headquartered in Chicago and have delivery offices in New York, London, and Buenos Aires.

We are looking for a senior leader to join our New York team as a Program Delivery Lead, with experience in leading multi-team engagements. You may have previously held titles such as Director, Senior Manager, or Program Manager. As a vision setter and someone responsible for the overall success of the engagement, you’ll align the teams with our clients’ goals and outline a path to achieve them. Through your leadership, you’ll establish the proper structure, practices, tools, and support to achieve those goals. As someone that lives and loves Consulting, you strive to provide a best-in-class client experience by developing and cultivating stakeholder relationships, serving as their trusted advisor.

You are just as excited about driving change with digital solutions as we are, and meet the following requirements:

  • Led 5 - 10 Scrum teams simultaneously, in the spirit of Servant Leadership and readiness to be hands-on as needed
  • Managed annualized labor budgets of $5MM - $15MM, while delivering to team commitments within the approved budget
  • Mastered Agile Scrum roles, artifacts, ceremonies and best practices -- with the ability to communicate and teach processes effectively to teams and clients
  • Utilized application lifecycle management software platforms such as Rally and JIRA
  • Coached/mentored team members, helping them to unlock their potential
  • Expert in Enterprise software delivery, including the ability manage a client’s transition from Waterfall to Agile
  • Keen sense for predicting delivery issues and risks, accompanied by methodical remediation to remove blockers and driving continuous improvement
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, with a track record of applying your understanding of healthy team dynamics in order to develop high-performing teams
  • 10+ years of project delivery experience, in the role of Program Manager, Scrum Master, and/or Project Manager
  • 5+ years of Agile project delivery experience
  • Bachelor’s degree

You’ll be working next to industry experts to pave the future of digital transformation in the enterprise by:

  • Managing and growing client relationships at a strategic level
  • Facilitating all necessary meetings at the program level - scrum of scrums, program demos, and program governance / weekly status with clients
  • Facilitating Agile release planning and helping the PO manage the release backlog.
  • Coaching the teams in Agile relative estimation techniques, cross-functionality, and self-organization
  • Identifying, managing, and mitigating project issues and risks
  • Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially concerning defining and prioritizing the product backlog
  • Ensuring transparency in the team’s work through the sprint backlog, burndown chart, and other Agile metrics
  • Leading by example - knowing when and how, to push for more results
  • Proactively identifying and removing impediments (i.e. blockers, risks, and issues) that interfere with the ability of the team to deliver the sprint commitments
  • Being the coach and all-around advocate for the Agile Scrum delivery methodology amongst project team and client stakeholders

How do your team's ideas influence the company's direction?

We’ve been in growth-mode a few years. While we've scaled, we’ve been disciplined about the flat structure in order to maintain a low-power-distance culture. From entry level to CEO, everyone’s roles are interdependent so their responsibilities are equally important. We know that insight and inspiration will come from every corner of the company.

Mark

NYC Managing Director

What are some social events your company does?

We take culture seriously and always make sure to have events planned frequently that keep us all connected outside of our day-to-day roles. With a plethora of offices around the world, we structure global events each office can participate in on the same day like our Rosé Soiree, and our annual Grilled Cheese Cookoff!
