The Role:

The Program Manager will be responsible for writing and maintaining program documentation including the program charter, executive summary, and program plan, in addition to identifying the scope of each project for the program, timelines, and needed resources. You will collaborate with business partners to drive consensus and accountability, prioritizing competing business demands to maximize company return on investment. You will assess the risks of various solutions, track key milestones, and create contingency plans for high-risk deliverables. You will also be responsible for communicating priorities, risks, and schedules to management, and will develop presentation materials to drive effective meetings and decision-making. Your work will ensure timely delivery of project deliverables, managing the dependencies between projects handling escalations, resolving issues, and taking corrective actions as required. You will set and track project milestones, account for and manage unforeseen delays, and realign schedules and expectations as needed.

Why You’ll Love This Role:

You will get to work with leaders across Newsela, while managing key projects for the Customer organization that impact the solutions we use for our customers. Reporting to the Manager of Optimization Project Management, you’ll be working alongside Salesforce Administrators, Developers and Business Analysts to drive key initiatives for our Sales and Customer Success organizations. Your work will directly impact the expansion and adoption of Newsela products in K-12 classrooms nationwide, and will ultimately help bring engaging, culturally responsive learning content to students and teachers.

Why We’ll Love You:

You have 3+ years of experience leading business analysis and quality assurance functions using formal SDLC methodologies (Agile/scrum methodology preferred), and a further 2+ years of project management experience in information technology (IT).  You have demonstrated success in developing project roadmaps and collaborating cross-functionally to drive business initiatives with technology. You are also well versed in writing user stories and maintaining the product backlog, prioritizing requests that maximize return on investment. You also have a strong track record of assessing business needs and driving business and IT solutions. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to write project charters, requirements, test plans, and test cases. You are confident in navigating ambiguity and demonstrate professionalism amidst high-profile challenges and able to simultaneously manage multiple priorities and projects.
