About This Role:

This position is an exciting opportunity for immediate professional growth and development within an industry disrupting environment. You will be part of a cross-functional team with a common goal of delivering the best possible product and revolutionize the definition of residential space. From programming through construction you will be driving the preparation and coordination of project documentation. During the design phase you will take the lead on space planning and coordination with external consultants as they prepare their documentation. As the project shifts into construction you will work closely with the WeLive Project and Construction Managers to ensure the design intent is met and the user experience is of the highest quality. Rapid project schedule requires organization, tenacity, and ability to work with others. 

Responsibilities:

  • Design, document, and execute multiple simultaneous high quality projects, by collaborating with internal and external teams

  • Work closely with your design manager on overall vision and programming of projects to maintain WeLive standards, goals, and brand ideals

  • Responsible for determining and organizing functional requirements, providing programming and space planning, and code analysis with minimal direction.

  • Communicate regularly with management and your team regarding project status

  • Take ownership of identified issues and work together with your team internally to resolve them

  • Produce design and hand-off packages for a project utilizing Revit

  • Support the Real Estate team in the Due Diligence process as needed

  • Lead the coordination of a comprehensive and coordinated Construction Document set

  • Be the main point of contact for external consultants

  • Depending on project locations some travel will be required

Who + What We’re Looking For: 

The Development Team is looking for motivated individuals with a love of learning and collaboration who are eager to join a workplace built around the mindset of “we” over “me”. We’re committed to investing in team member growth and encourage applicants to consider the direct and/or indirect ways in which they meet the following criteria. 

  • BArch / MArch Degree or equivalent required, licensed architect a plus

  • 5+ years professional design experience in high quality hospitality and/or large scale residential projects

  • A commitment to delivering outstanding, detail-oriented design

  • Knowledge of building materials and construction details

  • Knowledge and experience working with local building codes and other applicable laws

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating design documentation with external consultants, project budgeting, and deliverables management.

  • Knowledge and experience in Schematic Design, Design Development, permitting and Construction Documentation, including review and markup of documents.

  • Excellent oral, written, and graphic communication skills

  • Excellent decision-making skills and a creative problem solver

  • Strong time management skills and experience managing multiple projects simultaneously

  • Experience leading and mentoring project teams, including high profile/high visibility projects

  • Self-directed with a high level of initiative and a “can do” attitude, but open to feedback and a strong desire to learn

  • Proficient in the following programs: AutoCad, Revit, Vray or Enscape, Google, Bluebeam, MS Office

  • High command of English language, both spoken and written.

Our headquarters in NYC sits in Chelsea, but our growing tech team works from our SoHo, Chelsea, and Greenwich Village offices.
