Join our Engineering Services team!

Our engineering services team works closely with our clients in tech, defense, and finance on ground-up development, quick-response feature development, bug fixes, and integration of the security tools they depend on. We help fill the gap for internal security teams who need custom tooling for secure enclaves, endpoint detection and response, secure software updates, and security testing.

We use the best of open-source software for our work, and regularly contribute enhancements to these projects as a result. We help clients bring open source tools they rely on – like osquery, Santa, Omaha, and StreamAlert – to parity with the leading proprietary alternatives.

Our engineering practice is where innovative security research meets practical tools offering real value for industry-leading companies. Whenever possible, we get our research out of the lab and into client environments. We do this by scaling our testing tools developed by our government research practice to create cutting-edge application security tooling for the commercial sector.

Role Description

Trail of Bits is looking for a full-time Project Manager to keep our client engagements flowing seamlessly. You will join the Engineering Services team, where we engage with clients to build the next generation of security products and tools.

  • Oversee projects with multiple phases, teams, and stakeholders — often distributed across multiple time zones — from inception to conclusion, all while maintaining high customer satisfaction
  • Manage high volume of projects simultaneously, serving a broad spectrum of clients and Trail of Bits security teams, each with its own unique set of requirements
  • Become an expert in multiple internal scheduling and tracking tools
  • Provide project oversight and escalate issues as appropriate
  • Assist our operations and sales teams with matching the right skill sets with the right projects
  • Ensure precise delivery of Trail of Bits’ contractual commitments, within Trail of Bits high quality standards
  • Readily adapt to changes in schedule, team, and logistics
  • Along with project leads, engage and drive our delivery teams to peak performance on every project

  • Experience managing technical services and engineering teams, especially in security consulting
  • Familiarity with the concepts of security testing and application penetration tests

  • Experience in a demonstrably collaborative work environment
  • Strategic and creative thinking, with a proven ability to develop new business ideas
  • The skills of a diplomat, turning disagreements and confrontations into consensus
  • Strong initiative and large reserve of adaptability
  • Advanced team and meeting management skills
  • Ability to prioritize across multiple concurrent projects and responsibilities
  • Ability to stay positive, proactive, and take responsibility to solve problems, even when they are not entirely within your control
  • Experience managing client relationships
