Major League Baseball is seeking a Project Specialist in the Club Analytics group. The Club Analytics group serves as a central analytics resource for MLB Clubs, partnering with them to leverage data and analytics in order to drive business impact, fan engagement, and growth. The Project Specialist will support the development and direction of the team’s projects and platform. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent organizational and collaboration skills and the ability to effectively communicate with technical, analytical, strategic and key business stakeholders at MLB and some MLB Clubs. 

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the project, platform, and reporting roadmap of the Club Analytics group.

  • Effectively partner with internal technical teams/key business stakeholders at MLB and Club analytical and strategic teams to facilitate quality technical solutions and execute analytic projects. 

  • Manage relationships with and evaluate potential new third party data sources and analytic vendors in efforts to expand and enhance MLB’s existing Club data platform.

  • Translate business needs and gaps into project requests and manage life cycle development.

  • Document and organize informational repository that includes technical specifications, user guides, team roadmaps, and project best practices.

  • Present a personable attitude and develop positive, professional relationships with all levels of MLB and Clubs.

  • Cohesively communicate complex issues, expectations, and deadlines to leadership, stakeholders, and technical teams. 

  • Manage multiple tasks in a fast paced and deadline driven environment.

  • Occasional support of Club Analytics analyst tasks (e.g.: analyses, dashboard maintenance, club technical service support)

Required Skills:

  • College Graduate B.A. /B.S. degree with a relevant academic major is strongly preferred, though candidates with non-traditional schooling backgrounds and strong relevant experience will be considered.

  • 3-4 years related experience is preferred. 

  • Superior time management, planning and organizational skills required.

  • Highly professional manner and excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

  • Technical literacy in quantitative data collection, data warehousing, business intelligence platforms and analysis is required. Please explicitly highlight any relevant platform experience or skills in resume/cover letter (i.e. “Experience writing SQL in BigQuery syntax” etc.).

  • Experience with CRM systems, data warehousing, consumer marketing and how they all relate is strongly preferred.

  • Experience with BI platforms such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI or data visualization is strongly preferred.

  • Experience with data science and statistical concepts is a plus.

  • Client-facing experience is a plus.

  • Training & Certification from a recognized Project Management institution (PMI, CSM, etc.) a plus.
