We are looking for a Release Manager to join our Engineering team. As part of the Spruce team, your primary goals are to ensure, plan, protect, and improve the quality of our applications and to help define, grow, and own the standards of the release management process at Spruce.

Who you are

  • You have 3+ years of release management experience (consumer-facing applications preferred)
  • You have a full in depth understanding of CI/CD pipelines and scheduling releases within them
  • Familiarity with source control systems (Git, SVN)
  • Experience managing multiple branch inputs to the release pipeline
  • You are an excellent teammate to both technical and non-technical colleagues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skillsYou are very familiar with industry standard CI/CD tools such as CircleCi/Jenkins
  • Demonstrable experience with application performance and stability metrics/reporting
  • Experience using scripting languages like Bash, Ruby, Groovy, PowerShell scripting, and Python are a plus
  • Must be very punctual, reliable, highly flexible, and excellent at balancing multiple detail-oriented projects

What you’ll do

  • Working with very closely product and engineering leads in planning release windows and the overall release lifecycle
  • Communicate all key project plans, commitments, and projects changes including requirements
  • Manage multiple branch inputs to the release pipeline
  • Managing risks that may affect the release scope of our sprints
  • Prioritizing our release schedule including new development projects, enhancement projects for existing systems and systems maintenance projects
  • Assess/Improve git branch management flow
  • Ensure scheduled releases are delivered within requirements
  • Facilitate cross-functional communication as it relates to ensuring the quality of our applications and services
  • This role will be responsible for software builds and releases, which also includes the design, development, support of builds, scripts, and installation procedures.
