What You'll Be Doing

  • Interfacing with Zipari internal teams across all functions to engage in release management activities to ensure high quality, predictable releases for both product development and client configuration lifecycles.
  • Conducting Release Readiness reviews, Milestones reviews and Release Go/No-Go reviews. 
  • Leading and coordinating release and deployment activities, including execution of deployment plans and checklists to ensure release, deploy and configuration activities are managed.
  • Participating in cross-function Change Governance Board(CGB) meetings to align release scope, status, interdependencies and/or roadblocks Release Planning.
  • Maintaining and publishing an organizational release calendar.
  • Understanding release pipeline and potential environment dependencies.
  • Managing risks and resolving issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality.
  • Producing deployment playbooks and implementation plans.
  • Evaluating release risk and developing mitigation strategy with partner teams.
  • Overseeing governance of deployments in lower environments .
  • Partnering with DevOps resources to identify and implement automation opportunities in the deploy process.
  • Posting release evaluation and operational improvement identification.
  • Weekly release reporting and release note coordination with Product and Core Engineering groups.
  • Maintaining a release repository and manage key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists.

  • Maintaining and reporting release metrics.
  • Providing on-call support during the production release process.
  • Providing occasional after-hours support to troubleshoot issues or execute deployment of code to production or between various environments.
  • Continually working towards making improvements in the release process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in release management for a Software as a Service (SaaS) product organization, with a minimum of 7 years experience in release management
  • Understanding of ITIL framework or other release frameworks and processes 
  • Experience working with releases that include web and mobile applications, API integrations, identity provider integrations and cloud environments 
  • Familiarity with configuration management processes and tools, service discovery and dependency management platforms such as Consul or Vault, and CI/CD and build platforms such as GitLab and Jenkins
  • Agile SDLC methodology knowledge for SaaS product development
  • Ability to lead technical projects 
  • Experience with release management tools and modern communication mechanisms
  • Ability to develop necessary documentation for external support organizations
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems in a methodical fashion
  • Must have excellent organizational and communications skills
