Knotch's Engineering Team

It is an exciting time to join Knotch’s Engineering team. Since we are a growing organization, you would progress in your career along with us! Having such growth allows our engineering team to work on complex problems in product development and scaling our platform to be ready for current/future growth. 

Our engineering landscape is wide, encompassing front-end (React), APIs (Elixir and Ruby), dev-ops, data integrations, and data science/engineering, all hosted on AWS cloud and using its products. The Senior Project Manager

The ideal candidate understands Agile is more than a collection of best practices, and has experience managing sprints, deliverables and milestones. The project manager will cross functionally and ensure milestones are met and deliverables are on time. This role involves continuous improvement on processes that fits the software development needs. This role will work with engineering leads, product manager(s) to support, govern and report on the execution of a wide range of projects.

How You'll Add Value at Knotch

• Help Knotch’s engineering team deliver faster by developing project plans, coordinating dependencies, and clearing blockers
• Host Agile ceremonies and manage escalations, communications and stakeholders
• Coach and mentor your project managers and project team members
• Lay out best practices of Agile that fit the needs of each project, our team, and situation
• Be laser-focused on delivery, quality, and metrics reporting
• Take initiatives from high-level product requirements to project plans with milestones and deliverables
• Be the governance body of anything project management process
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders.
• Manage Sprints and User Stories in Jira across multiple projects
• Identify and manage risks and dependencies
• Creating benchmarks and metrics to give insights on team performance and project tracking reports

About You

• Bring five or more years of experience managing software engineering/development projects using Agile methodologies (such as Scrum) or Shape Up
• Have experience managing multiple projects simultaneously as a Project Manager
• Understand software technologies like databases, queues, cloud, code repositories, etc. We use tools such as GitHub, AWS Infrastructure with Postgres and Redshift
• Are expert in using Jira, Confluence, and other project management tools
• Have excellent organization, communication, and listening skills. You need to be able to communicate clearly, completely, and concisely with technical and non-technical teams here
• Can hold people accountable by challenging directly yet caring personally (viz. Radical Candor framework)
• Are experienced working with globally distributed teams, including your team members of various backgrounds, in timezones, and cultures
• Are eager to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and effectively prioritize to deliver on timelines
• Demonstrate dependability and show a sense of urgency for getting results
• Care deeply about context and tracking progress, and have excellent documentation skills

We Also Appreciate (but don't require)

• Having an engineering or technical background
• Certified Scrum Master or any Project Management certification
• History of managing and building out a project management team
