The Opportunity:

We’re seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead GIPHY’s API engineering projects. The API powers GIPHY’s internal products, such as the website and mobile apps, as well as external partner integrations in major messaging platforms, the biggest social media networks, and thousands of indie developer apps. Our public API services billions of requests and traffics many petabytes of media per month.

What You’ll Do:

• Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, stakeholders, and external partners to define and deliver API products
• Manage the development lifecycle including gathering requirements, writing and prioritizing user stories, identifying and escalating risks, and overseeing deadlines
• Balance new features and partner requests with engineering initiatives
• Work cross-organizationally with other engineering teams, business development, account management, and content teams to gather requirements, negotiate priorities, and deliver solutions
• Work directly with our external partners and their product and engineering teams to ensure we’re delivering the best experiences]
• Own cross-team and company-wide communication around the API team and product
• Evangelize API vision and product both internally and externally

What we’re looking for:

• 3+ years Program or Project Management experience with highly technical products
• Passionate about building and maintaining services that touch millions of people every day
• Experience managing projects through the entire development lifecycle
• Expert in Agile project management methodologies and processes
• Excited to work with external partners to integrate the GIPHY API and provide an awesome experience for their users
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, interacting with both engineering and business teams with the ability to lead via influence, patience, and determination
• Ridiculously organized with high level of attention to detail
• Strong leader with the ability to build good relationships and trust with the product team, partners, and stakeholders
• Start-up experience a plus
• BS or MS in engineering or mathematics discipline a bonus
