We are looking for a talented Technical Project Manager to facilitate the delivery of high-impact product projects and initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Technical Project Management, you will be a valued collaborator and leader as we continue to refine the TPM function at Hinge.

Working with a team of passionate colleagues, you will be involved in shaping the future of our company and help scale collaboration and impact at Hinge through our next chapter of team and user growth.

Technical Project Managers support Product & Engineering as cross-functional team members with a specific focus on planning, execution, and delivery. You will partner with a multidisciplinary team of product managers, engineers, designers, data scientists and QA engineers focused on building a compelling product that helps users find love and meaningful connections.

At Hinge, we take a pragmatic, non-dogmatic approach to project management. Using both agile and traditional project management methodologies we combine and develop hybrid tools to drive project and team success.

You will lead with best practices to deliver projects predictably and with transparency, develop and ensure teams adopt continuous improvement practices, and be a key partner to product and engineering leads to ensure planning and execution run seamlessly.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and lead continuous improvement processes focused on transparency, planning, managing project tasks, assigning team members, creating timelines and driving execution with the goal of enabling greater predictability, clarity, and high quality delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across departments, disciplines, groups and leadership. Establish effective communication and reporting channels.
  • Act as an evangelist and coach of project management and agile best practices across multiple workstreams. Play the role of force multiplier for Product Managers and Engineering Managers through advising thoughtful change management.
  • Lead project planning, resource management and estimations across multiple platform workstreams.

Hard Skills:

  • Experience working on design-heavy, mobile first consumer products.
  • 3-5 years of program/project management experience in a SaaS or technology organization
  • Experience planning and managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, scrappy environment with minimal guidance.
  • Strong leadership skills; can motivate and lead a skilled group of ambitious peers across multiple teams, product areas, and organizations
  • Ability to assess, prioritize and integrate new information and requirements into plans and schedules seamlessly.
  • Strong knowledge of facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
  • Demonstrated track record of project execution with the ability to lead and influence teams.

Soft Skills:

  • A common sense approach to agility that is focused on efficiency and better outcomes irrespective of methodologies, practices or processes.
  • Highly energetic and proactive with strong leadership skills.
  • Enjoys making sense of chaos, continuously learning and working with a diverse group of great people.
  • Natural ability to make things happen and get stuff done. You manage project ambiguity, complexity, and interdependencies in an organized and structured way.
  • Ability to identify and gather the right level of information and data to effectively prioritize tasks, projects and resources.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to communicate effectively, lead others and influence outcomes.
  • Dependable and reliable with clear thinking and attention to detail.
  • Exhibits a positive, can-do attitude and willingness to roll up your sleeves and work in a hyper-growth, dynamic environment.

Nice to Have:

  • Agile, Scrum, and/or Project Management certifications.
  • Familiarity with core competencies of both agile methodologies and traditional project management practices.
  • Prior experience as a product owner, engineer, scrum master/agile coach.

Our Company:
Hinge is the dating app designed to be deleted. In today’s digital world, singles are so focused on sending likes and looking through profiles that they’re not actually building meaningful connections and finding relationships. Hinge is on a mission to change that by designing the most effective app experience. On Hinge, there are no rules, timers, or games. Instead, you’ll have unique conversations over the text, photos, and audio you’ve shared on your profile. And it’s resonating with daters. Currently we’re setting up a date every three seconds.

Our Culture:
- Authenticity: Share your genuine thoughts and opinions directly.
- Courage: Invite and deeply consider challenges and criticism.
- Empathy: Be empathetic, communitarian and trustworthy.

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.

An Insider's view of Hinge

How do you collaborate with other teams in the company?

In-person communication and collaboration have been central to keeping our team small and efficient, as well as being able to accommodate a massive scale in a short amount of time. Keeping everyone under one roof has led us to develop ideas through a reliable, data-oriented process. Best of all, feedback isn’t just appreciated; it’s encouraged!

How has your career grown since starting at the company?

As a direct result of Hinge's culture of empowerment and continuous learning, I was given the opportunity to transition from customer service associate to operations. I’ve learned volumes, and look forward to continuing to build out my knowledge base and skill set to achieve even more with Hinge.

Lucia

Chief Community Officer

What are some social events your company does?

We're about authentic connections, not just alcohol. Events have included a slumber party, an escape room, a party in which we had 12-15 puppies, competitive field days, and more. We plan an event for each new hire that showcases their unique personality.
