Dots is a new gaming company with three mobile hits so far (Dots, Two Dots, and Dots & Co), and over 100 million installs. We’re a growing team of multi-talented people. We have big plans for more games in the future and we’re looking to add more dynamic people to the team.
We are looking for a technical project manager that will make sure our game teams are reaching their full capability and velocity. You are an engineer at your core, excited by difficult technical challenges, and a desire to contribute in all areas of the development process. You have deep experience in a mobile development environment and can bring structure to a fast paced and creative process. You are able to communicate effectively across multiple disciplines like product, engineering and design to align everyone on goals and process in order to build robust scalable features quickly. It is imperative that you get your hands dirty in code and lead developers in feature architecting. Oh, and you love video games!
You must be able to work in the United States. This is a full-time position based in our NYC office.
Responsibilities:

  • Establish and refine the Software Development Lifecycle for the team.
  • Use appropriate and effective workflow methodologies to drive efficiencies in our development to scale.
  • Identify and surface risks to development or schedule and drive resolution of any issues that arise.
  • Conduct regular retrospectives on sprints to drive continuous improvement to processes.
  • Manage relationships with a number of external partners, including artists, translation services, and customer support.
  • Oversee app update release process after every sprint.
  • Direct and manage multi-disciplinary teams in the development of plans, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for completion of a project.
  • Scope technical requirements and drive technical documentation.
  • Drive development code review process.

Requirements:

  • Extremely detailed oriented and can juggle multiple intersecting priorities
  • Experience in SDLC Methodologies, Agile, SCRUM, etc
  • Experience with JIRA or similar project management tools
  • 2+ years experience in a related role
  • 1+ years experience working in a mobile development environment as an engineer
  • Comfortable in a start-up environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to set and maintain clear goals and work well in a team environment
  • Experience with other B2C companies
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Bonus Points:

  • CS Degree
  • Familiarity with Unity
  • Familiarity with the casual free to play genres, including the systems that power those games.
  • Engineering experience in gaming
