React Native Expo Developer (3D / Three.js)
Location: Americas or Europe (Remote)

About the Role

Bataround is seeking an experienced React Native Expo Developer with strong skills in 3D rendering, animation, and interactive visual experiences. You will be responsible for building high-performance mobile features using React Native, Expo, Three.js, and expo-gl.

This role is ideal for someone who has hands-on experience delivering complex 3D or motion-heavy features on mobile and can collaborate closely with designers, product owners, and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and optimize 3D-rendered experiences and animated interactions using Three.js and expo-gl within a React Native app.

  • Implement high-quality, performant mobile UI using Expo and the React Native ecosystem.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to translate motion/3D requirements into clean, scalable code.

  • Collaborate on feature planning, API integration, and system architecture.

  • Ensure smooth performance and responsiveness across iOS and Android.

  • Participate in the React Native technical interview process (required for the role).

  • Contribute to testing, debugging, and release workflows using Expo tools.

Required Skills & Experience
  • 4+ years professional experience with React Native.

  • Hands-on experience with Expo and the modern Expo toolchain.

  • Strong knowledge of Three.js for 3D rendering and animation.

  • Experience working with expo-gl or related GL/WebGL frameworks.

  • Demonstrated experience building interactive 3D interfaces, animations, or visual effects in mobile apps.

  • Ability to optimize rendering performance for mobile devices.

  • Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)

Candidates with any of the following will stand out:

  • Experience with Expo Router

  • Experience with Expo API Routes

  • Experience with Supabase (authentication, real-time, Postgres)

  • Experience with Sanity CMS

  • Exposure to CI/CD workflows for Expo

  • Familiarity with mobile design for dynamic/animated interfaces
