The Role 

The mission of the Account Management team is to own the commercial relationship with Cedar’s clients in order to demonstrate the initial value of Cedar and expand our presence across their organizations.

 

As we build deep relationships with our clients, the Account Executive will be responsible for creating and executing the strategy around expansion and upsell opportunities to address our clients’ most critical problems as they relate to the patient financial experience. 

 

We are looking for a team member that enjoys setting goals, building relationships, and solving problems so that we are able to propel our mission of improving the patient experience across an organization.  

 

Responsibilities

  • Ability to manage client relationships and drive enterprise deals from pilots to full expansion

  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to negotiate and execute commercial terms of enterprise level agreements 

  • Build strategic relationships where necessary to optimize product delivery 

  • Ability to appropriately set and reset expectations with stakeholders

  • Create client champions that become Cedar evangelists 

  • Identify upsell opportunities that map directly to each client’s needs and/or pain points

  • Ability to work with teams such as sales, product, and engineering to drive strategic initiatives

Skills & Experience

  • 4+ years experience in consulting, finance, or other professional services field in an external-facing role

  • Healthcare experience navigating c-suite audiences

  • Entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for problem solving

Software Engineer Sara Bernstein joined Cedar to help put their mission into practice. “I am constantly working with my teammates on products that enhance the patient experience and aim to make healthcare more affordable,” Bernstein said. Whether working through code reviews, running through tickets or focusing on pair programming, Bernstein knows her work makes a difference. “I love that the products I’m building directly impact our patients and that I get to see the impact of my work,” she said. Bernstein also mentioned she's a big fan of the almond butter cups in the NYC HQ snack pantry.

Building space for diverse voices in tech
In addition to her work with clients, Manisha Ram serves as co-chair of be@cedar, an employee resource group focused on building inclusion and community for BIPOC Cedarians. Along with Ram’s personal growth as a leader and her gratitude for the be@cedar community, she is also grateful for how Cedar is able to model inclusivity, both in the tech world and for their healthcare clients. “We have a responsibility to create that inclusive environment so that our providers, patients and observers clearly see our commitment to anti-racism and diversity in our product and in each of us,” she said.

One recent cross-functional project connected him to Cedar’s product, engineering and design teams to quickly deploy features to support a client. “The ‘all hands on deck’ approach is not new for Cedarians, but it was invigorating to know I can count on my teammates, even when it’s not their direct responsibility to step in,” Morgenstern said. According to Morgenstern, especially in his role, that solutions-oriented approach is key. “Each healthcare organization we partner with presents new challenges that Cedar can help solve.”
