Director, Growth Marketing

What we’re looking for:

We are seeking an experienced, data-driven marketing leader to own the growth marketing function at Arcadia. This individual will oversee a small growth marketing team, media buying, paid marketing budget and forecasting, top-of-funnel experimentation, and more. The ideal candidate has proven experience spearheading growth at a company in both a hands-on and higher-level strategy capacity, an analytical mindset, and the ability to thrive in a high-velocity startup environment. Additionally, the Director, Growth Marketing will work closely with colleagues in Finance, Partnerships, Analytics & Data Science, Brand & Communications, Product, and beyond, so cross-functional collaboration is critical to success in this role.

This role can be based in Washington, D.C. or New York and will report directly to the VP, Marketing.

What you'll do:

  • Build and own the growth marketing function at Arcadia
  • Act as a player/coach, managing one direct report to start while rolling up your own sleeves
  • Build Arcadia’s demand gen engine, creating, implementing, and continuously optimizing a holistic, multichannel customer acquisition strategy
  • Partner with the Analytics & Data Science and Finance teams to project new member volume, CAC, and spend
  • Voraciously learn about and refine your understanding of our target member and how to reach & convert them
  • Identify and launch new paid channels to expand Arcadia’s reach both nationally & at the local level
  • Own and execute an experiment and testing agenda to improve growth performance
  • Use user research and behavioral data to help inform new campaigns and experiments; collaborate cross-functionally to enable and advance our targeting & retargeting capabilities
  • Work closely with the Product and Engineering teams to help increase top-of-funnel conversion and sentiment metrics
  • Work closely with the Partnerships team to execute on new affiliate and brand partnerships
  • Work with in-house and external creative teams to fill a pipeline of content for your growth marketing efforts
  • Meet and exceed new member growth, brand awareness, and CAC goals
  • Initiate and manage external vendor and media relationships

What will help you succeed:

Must-haves:

  • BA/BS degree or similar college-level education
  • 8+ years of experience in marketing and customer acquisition, including direct-to-consumer marketing experience of a subscription product
  • Past success managing both awareness & direct-response paid media strategies and tactics
  • Experience owning a budget, forecasts, and performance metrics
  • Exceptional attention to detail, process orientation, and quantitative rigor; you’re not only deeply analytical, but passionate about leading others to appreciate, interpret, and make smart decisions with data
  • Expertise in media planning, buying, and vendor management across multiple channels
  • Expertise with Facebook and Google ad platforms
  • Experience working with leadership & finance teams to drive business, marketing, and budget strategy
  • Proven experience collaborating with creative teams to produce high-quality, creative, effective advertising campaigns that drive growth
  • Experience working with product or engineering teams to help optimize the customer experience for growth
  • Ability to multitask; prior experience setting strategy, doing hands-on execution, and managing others, and enthusiasm for shifting seamlessly across all of these on any given day
  • Experience selecting, onboarding, and fully leveraging agency partners
  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset -- you anticipate and plan for future challenges 
  • Passion for our mission, sustainability, and helping drive a clean-energy future

Nice-to-haves:

  • MBA or master’s in marketing, statistics, or another data-driven field
  • Relevant experience at & learnings from both startup and mature, best-in-class organizations, with a preference for building within early-stage companies 
  • Relevant experience in a highly regulated industry (e.g. healthcare)
  • Proficiency with Google Optimize, Optimizely, and/or other experimentation software
