NYC-based Virtuoso travel agency is searching for an Air Ticketing Agent.

The ideal candidate has background in corporate and leisure travel and is a smart, super- organized, intuitive communicator who thrives in a fast-paced forward-thinking environment. This candidate shares the passion and belief that travel is a source of inspiration, renewal, and joy.

The Agent will provide day-to-day air support and hotel booking support for in-house agents and independent contractors. Responsibilities include ticketing and exchanges, crafting emails, performing hotel rate checks, booking hotels via Sabre, invoicing via SalesForce and building relationships with clientele.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Book air reservations, hotel reservations and travel related products, as needed by the team
  • Provide price quotes for proposed routes/itineraries and hotels in a prompt and professional manner
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to internal travel advisors and external clients alike
  • Support corporate clients in their reporting and Online booking needs
  • Take a consultative selling approach when advising clients
  • Utilize contracts to secure product that best meets the needs of our clients
  • Arrange client records in an organized and accurate fashion
  • Create guidelines and protocols for air travel sale
  • Create and keep client travel documents such as flight itineraries and invoices updated
  • Enter data into CRM (account/client information, bookings, etc.)
  • Work in conjunction with Sales Team and Operations Coordinator for seamless execution
  • Learn and use company tools including Salesforce
  • Responsibilities are not limited to those outlines in this description, you may perform other negotiated duties to meet the ongoing needs of the company.

REQUIREMENTS

  • New York Based, role conducted on-site
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of corporate travel agent/advisor experience
  • Proficiency with one or more of the following GDS: Sabre, Apollo, Amadeus, Worldspan
  • Experience arranging international airfare
  • Knowledge of ticketing and exchange procedures
  • Knowledge of corporate travel booking tools and procedures
  • International travel experience (minimum 10 countries) & extensive knowledge of world geography
  • Proven experience in customer service or hospitality background
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, creative writing a plus
  • Ability to present, persuade and communicate effectively
  • Able to handle high-stress situations and remain calm
  • Team player, able to work collaboratively and within groups
  • Strong work ethic who identifies opportunities to take on more
  • Proactive and resourceful; an intuitive problem-solver
  • Detail-oriented and excellent time-management and organizational skills with ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Positive attitude with passion for travel, and a reflection of the brand ethos
  • Quick-learning, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Tech-savvy, proficient with MS Office (Excel skills mandatory) and knowledge of Salesforce will be considered a plus

COMPENSATION

  • Compensation based on experience
