Role Overview
Outbrain is looking for a hungry, Business Development Director to hit the ground running in expanding our current publisher base and distribution partners. The candidate will focus on securing partnerships with top 50 publishers in North America, as well as complementary platforms with monetizable distribution/inventory.
Responsibilities and Activities
PUBLISHER AND PLATFORM PARTNER RELATIONSHIPS
As the day-to-day relationship owner across publishers and Platform Partners, the BD Director will be responsible for renewing existing agreements as well as finding and closing new partnerships. The ideal candidate will have a full grasp of Outbrain’s various tools, products and monetization capabilities necessary to reach their quarterly targets. Along the way, he/she will maintain good communication with internal Outbrain functions contributing to the business.
RESULTS OWNERSHIP AND OPTIMIZATION
Responsible for making sure that the supply (inventory) coming into Outbrain’s network is well inside the company’s guidelines, performs in an optimal way and leads toward growth of the Engage business.
PRODUCT & DEV GUIDANCE
Be a contributor, from a tech and product perspective, to the ongoing process of solidifying the business product pipeline as well as business aspects. Take part in product and tech discussions, and establish and lead the conversation where required to bring business and product on both sides together based on acquired day-to-day knowledge.
Profile Overview
EXPERIENCE IN WORKING WITH DIGITAL AD TECH PRODUCTS
Minimum 7 years’ experience in tech companies that have developed and operated successful digital ad tech products selling to publishers. A passion for an ever-evolving process improvement while maintaining existing business in tight control and optimization.
ABILITY TO PERFORM IN A MULTIFACETED ROLE
Comfortable in a role that requires a breadth of experience and skill-sets. Will be working with teams of a variety of functions. Whilst having a project, product and relationship management strengths, this individual will bring a wide commercial lens to their activities.
SCALE & COMPLEXITY
Experience in building and managing relationships in a significant scale with both publishers and platforms/tech companies with inventory.
TEAMWORK & MANAGEMENT
Strong, trustworthy character with the ability to inspire team members to think outside the box and view the world differently. An energetic and engaging figure that people enjoy working with. A natural team player who has an inclusive approach but also the ability to make key decisions based on experience. A self-starter who is able to work independently but also reach out to key stakeholders for assistance.
