We Make Websites are the go-to agency for Shopify Plus. We design, develop and optimise e-commerce websites for the world's most ambitious brands.

Brands we work with include: Hasbro, PepsiCo, Finisterre, DeBeers, Skinnydip, Cluse, Bulletproof Coffee, Penguin Books, Beavertown Brewery, Emma Bridgewater, Harper Collins, National Portrait Gallery, Nicce, Press and The Economist.

We’re a team of 50+ designers, developers, solutions architects, e-comm consultants and marketers - spread across our London and New York offices. We’ve doubled in size over the last year and are looking for more bright, ambitious and enthusiastic people to join our team.

What we're looking for:

We are looking for a passionate, dynamic and experienced Sales Consultant to join our Growth Team. You will have 2-4 years of sales, growth and/or business development experience within an agency environment (ideally digital and/or e-commerce).

You will be commercially focused and have experience working with modern, design-led, growth stage or heritage brands, either in an e-commerce or digital context.

About the role:

The Growth Team is made up of two parts - new business revenue (sales) and brand position/lead generation (marketing). We have clearly defined our target market to be: modern direct to consumerbrands (e.g. Bulletproof Coffee) and traditional businesses embracing new direct to consumertechnologies (e.g. Hasbro and PepsiCo). The marketing team create a sticky funnel that entices leads, the sales team nurture and close them.

This position sits within the sales team, however, as our NYC office is in start-up mode, it will be a varied role that will involve a consultative, holistic approach, including business development, requirements gathering, proposal creation, pitching and deal closing.

Day one is likely to be ‘hands on’. The goal will be to work with our US Development and Account Strategy Team for technical support and close as many warm leads as possible. We expect the successful incumbent to learn quickly, progressing from mid-sized deals onto more complex projects within three to six months. In parallel, we expect the Sales Consultant to drive business development, particularly through our Strategic Partnership network.

Practical Experience

  • You will have a proven track record of closing deals within a SaaS, e-commerce or digital agency environment.*

  • You will have end-to-end sales experience including requirements gathering, pitching, solution consulting and proposal creation.*

  • You will be able to provide case studies showing where you’ve successfully consulted with clients to understand their objectives and turn these into successfully delivered projects.*

  • You will have a proven track record of working with internal Production/Project Management teams.

  • You will be comfortable working within an inbound and outbound sales environment.

  • You will have superb pitch deck creation and presentation skills.

  • You will have experience with contract and deal negotiation.

  • You will have experience working on deals that involve numerous stakeholders/third parties.

  • You will have a proven track record of managing a large and constantly changing sales pipeline.

* Where an applicant isn't working in a sales role at present, we would have different expectations - instead we would be looking for relevant, transferable skills.  

What you'll be doing

  • You will be responsible for hitting sales OKRs

  • You will work closely with our solutions team to scope out, pitch and close medium-sized Shopify Plus projects - working towards tackling our largest deals within 3-6  months.

  • You will be responsible for continually reviewing and improving our sales tools.

  • You will work closely with our Marketing Lead to ensure our lead-generating initiatives are resulting in qualified enquiries.

  • You will work closely with our Solutions Lead and Client Services Lead to ensure the Sales to  Project Team handover process is continually being optimised.

  • You will work closely with our Strategic Partners to develop lead generation tactics and close deals.

  • You will be responsible for motivating, engaging more junior members of the Sales Team to create a high-performance culture.

  • You can bring an existing e-commerce network or be able to demonstrate how you can quickly build relationships within the Shopify Plus community.

  • You will have the opportunity to be involved in wider Growth Team initiatives such as lead generation dinners, Meetups and conferences (M20/20, IRCE, E-commerce Expo).

  • You will have the opportunity to travel to our London office.

Bonus points if you have

  • Experience with Shopify Plus or a similar enterprise level e-commerce platform (Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Hybris).

  • Have a technical understanding of e-commerce systems such as ERP, ESP, CRM, OMS, WMS etc - and how they interact with e-commerce platforms.

  • Have come from a startup or SME that has experienced extremely high growth over a short period.
