As leader of the Sales Support Specialist team, the Director, Sales Support is instrumental in addressing the operational and administrative needs of the sales team. The Director will collaborate with other divisions to improve both the customer experience and internal operations.
This position reports to the Vice President, Sales Operations and Enablement and will work with Sales Account Executives and Sales Managers to provide support in specific accounts or unique situations, including detailing district purchase processes, providing and developing appropriate collateral when needed, and providing expertise on Salesforce updates. The Director, Sales Support will also lead projects that impact the beginning of the customer lifecycle, opportunity creation to material delivery.
The ideal candidate is a strategist that develops visions and concepts into structured plans, actions and measurable metrics. This person is able to successfully implementing those plans, while remaining focused on both internal and client needs. The Director of Sales Support approaches their work with attention to detail and possess the ability to work within and across diverse teams.
Responsibilities of the Director, Sales Support:

  • Supervises a team of Sales Support Managers and Strategic Account Specialists
  • Develops, documents and maintains business processes and ensures the sales support team is following workflow practices and policies
  • Facilitates inter-departmental leadership team meetings
  • Leads and collaborates on cross-departmental projects to improve customer experience and internal efficiency
  • Leads efforts to streamline and automate business processes
  • Ensures execution of sales support team training and continued development opportunities
  • Support all efforts in new and continuing business in select accounts; including quote creation, tracking district purchasing, and remote based client support that drives revenue
  • Occasionally facilitate departmental team meetings
  • Additional related projects to be assigned or as needed


Basic Qualifications of the Director, Sales Support:

  • BA/BS degree
  • 5+ years of work experience in a fast-paced environment
  • 3+ years CRM or Salesforce.com experience
  • 3+ years of work experience in a sales or operations role
  • 3+ years of leadership experience
  • 3+ years of experience providing customer service
  • Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite experience


Preferred Qualifications of the Director, Sales Support:

  • MA/MS degree in Education, Business, Sales Management, or related field
  • 3+ years experience in the K-12 education space
  • 5+ years CRM or Salesforce.com experience
  • Experience collaborating and working effectively in a team environment with shared responsibilities
  • Interest in improving industry and product knowledge through self-study, training, and experience
  • Exceptional written, verbal communication, and presentation skills
  • Travel and in-person meetings required (about 5-10%)
