MakerBot is the leader in the Desktop 3D Printers market. We are currently seeking a Sales Director to develop and implement an effective sales strategy. In this role, you will be responsible for developing the sales plan and managing a team of sellers to execute and meet predetermined sales and profit targets. This position is based out of our corporate office in Brooklyn, NY.

The Sales Director will excel at:

  • Sales Planning
    • Activities are actionable and correlated to the expected Objectives
    • Defines actionable objectives that credibly lead to the expected Result
    • Creates SMART Sales Plans
    • Tracks and manages execution of activities in sales plan
    • Adjusts activities and objectives based on business outcomes
    • Enables the sellers with the skills and tools required to execute the activities
  • Seller Development
    • Develops independence and self-sufficiency
    • Set clear performance goals and manage activities and behaviors of direct reports
    • Develops sellers’ skills according to a proactive development plan
  • Cross-functional Collaboration
    • Incorporates relevant input from other teams into her decision making process
    • Gets buy-in for ideas that impact other groups
    • Marshalls resources cross-functionally to get expected deliverables
    • Apply the RAPID decision making model to key business recommendations and decisions
  • Business Communications
    • Effective presentations -- clear, concise, relevant to audience.
    • Persuades audience into action
    • Tailors message and level of depth to the audience
  • Data Driven Decision Making
    • Analyze business metrics to derive business insights
    • Understands drivers of revenue and pipeline
    • Define actionable tactics that address business insights
    • Provides evidence to support business insights
    • Understands root causes and makes relevant improvement recommendations
  • Forecasting
    • Understands the impact of leading indicators on revenue
    • Uses a success matrix to track KPIs and leading indicators
    • Forecasts revenue within +/- 10%
  • Leadership
    • Lead by the example
    • Live and foster MakerBot’s culture and values
    • Lead the development of younger team members into professional sales people.
    • Persuade people into action

Additional Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading B2B sales teams
  • Previous experience in a senior sales role with demonstrated ability to meet or exceed targets
  • Previous experience with direct and indirect sales channels
  • Existing wallet of customers in the consumer goods, consumer electronics and automotive industries
