Metric Digital powers marketing for the best, most disruptive direct to consumer brands in the world. We’ve helped companies drive sustainable growth that helped fuel their acquisition, IPO, or next funding round, such as Canada Goose (IPO), Bonobos (Acquired), Hired.com (Series C). Many of our clients are on the IAB 250 list, like JackThreads, Mack Weldon, Hint Water and Nature Box.
We’ve grown from a team of ~5 to a team of ~35 in the last two and a half years, and are looking for leaders to help us continue on our growth trajectory. We also recently published our first book, Badvertising, which uncovers shady practices in the digital marketing industry and helps brand executives avoid them.
We're looking for an experienced, talented candidate to scale up sales at Metric Digital. Since January, we've built a strong outbound sales process that has helped double monthly revenue in 6 months. The numbers are attractive (< 3 week sales cycle, $3K-10K / mo avg check size, massive but highly underserved target market), and now we're looking to really blow this out.
The Director of Sales role is for the candidate who is both a salesperson themselves, consistently selling and winning business, as well as someone who is capable of hiring, mentoring, and growing a team of dedicated salespeople. This person needs to be willing to "do" just as much as they're willing to "teach" as this will be our first Sales hire.
-Identify, prospect, and develop new client relationships
-Maximize revenue through consultative sales approach with ability to represent solutions across our full digital portfolio: Paid Social (mostly Facebook/Instagram), SEM (including Shopping and Display), programmatic display, email, native advertising (Taboola and Outbrain), and SEO
-Develop a robust sales process, from goal-setting to post-sales activities
-Set and develop sales goals to collaboratively build out Metric Digital’s sales pipeline
-Create and articulate compelling value propositions around the Metric Digital solution
-Grow the team and structure it as you see fit for our organization
-4-7+ years experience selling digital advertising or tech solutions (eCommerce is a plus)
-Ability to take initiative, multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively
-Entrepreneurial background, attitude or ambition
-Hungry, talented, and motivated to close deals, but in a way where the people around you like to work with you
-Player + coach mentality - at a start-up like ours, everyone who manages also needs to do. You will be a team of 1 to begin with, but opportunity to build out a team.
-All-star track record of beating sales quotas through new approaches
-You have strong desire to take a great deal of ownership - this is a leadership role in an early stage environment where your performance directly impacts the business
