The Opportunity:

We are looking for a passionate Editorial Account Manager (EAM) to join Shutterstock’s Enterprise Sales Team. Focusing exclusively on our Editorial product, this EAM’s goal will be to maximize the opportunity within our media customer base in North America. Reporting to the Sr. Director for Media, this role will be seated in either our NYC Headquarters or our Los Angeles office.

A successful Editorial Account Manager will be very familiar with the editorial & media market space and will be seasoned at negotiating exclusive licenses. They will also have a passion for, and be accustomed to working in a “newsroom” type atmosphere, following what is happening in the world of Pop Culture, Entertainment, Fashion, News and Sports around the world.

Main contact(s) for this role is the photo teams/newsroom editors at newspaper, digital, weekly magazine publishers, live broadcast news/entertainment programs (Today Show, NBC Nightly News, E! News, Entertainment Tonight, etc). Additionally, photo editors at monthly publishers that publish real-time content to digital property (Vogue.com, Vanityfair.com, Harpersbazaar.com)

Responsibilities:

  • Daily curation and proactive push of live feed to media customers reliant on live editorial content, including newspapers, magazine and digital publishers, and live broadcast production and/or networks
  • Curation and proactive push of editorial content to relevant (specific) recipients
  • On call for breaking news events; in collaboration with edit team and global EAM team.
  • Consistent follow-up via phone to all recipients of curated sets
  • Coverage during live events, including curation of incoming content for proactive push to relevant clients
  • Collaboration and communication amongst North American and EMEA EAM team, for global pro-active push and negotiation of exclusive editorial content;
  • Negotiation/closing sales of exclusive and/or curated sets of editorial content

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of pro-active outbound editorial sales experience dealing with digital, broadcast, and print media companies and/or advertising agencies.
  • Experience in selling licensed editorial content is a must
  • MUST be accustomed to “newsroom” type atmosphere, understands the non - 9 to 5 nature of Editorial
  • Must have an understanding of, and the ability to, negotiate exclusive licenses with our media customers
  • Proven results in consistently exceeding sales targets
  • Proven ability to manage and grow revenues
  • Must be a team player
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the sales team and internal departments to facilitate current and future business requirements
  • Salesforce experience preferred, not required
