Check is looking for a Growth Manager to help evangelize Check to the market and help SaaS entrepreneurs on their journey in building payroll products. While payroll can be complicated, at Check our mission is to make paying people simple. Our Growth team lies at the heart of doing that.

We’re looking for an entrepreneurial go-getter that has a passion for fintech (and tech generally!). We sit at the intersection of several fields which require intellectual curiosity, a self-starters mentality, and passion! You’ll need to become an expert in the emerging API infrastructure and embedded fintech landscape, but also in the decades-old world of payroll.

Your role in our quickly growing team will focus on identifying the right partners that align with Check’s mission and then supporting those partners as they begin to build on the Check platform. Some of our key partnerships include leaders in vertical SaaS, time & attendance, HR software, the gig economy, and enterprise companies.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop, coordinate, and execute an effective strategy to support startups on their path to provide payroll
  • Develop go-to-market business plans with new partners as part of the deal signing process to ensure success (revenue, retention, etc.)
  • Support all aspects of deal execution, including prioritization of partners, sales execution, and contract execution
  • Remain in consistent contact with our partners to understand and fully address their needs
  • Provide regular updates on results and KPIs
  • Report on key metrics and communicate actionable customer and partner feedback to Check’s product, engineering, and exec teams

Many backgrounds could fit this role, but ideal candidates:

  • Have 3+ years of proven successful experience in Software-as-a-Service, Management Consulting, and/or Fintech
  • Have the ability to work closely with startup entrepreneurs that have aspirations to be the next unicorn
  • Can creatively and persistently network in order to locate decision-makers, build relationships, negotiate and sell
  • Have a strong ability to assess product-market fit and prioritize initiatives based on the potential impact
  • Are technologically savvy and familiar with APIs
  • Have exceptional communication skills and the ability to rally organizational alignment
  • Bring a high energy level to match Check’s fast-paced, start-up environment!

Our team is distributed across the US, with hubs in New York City, San Francisco, and Atlanta.

How does the company support your career growth?

At Check, I feel supported in my career growth with a professional development budget and regular career check-ins! Above all, I am encouraged to expand my skills and areas of expertise - for example, I was able to transition from Business Operations into a Product Manager role. I'm fortunate to work for a company that invests in its people.

What is your vision for the company?

We believe in a future where business owners don’t have to think about payroll; it’ll simply be embedded in the platforms they already use to run their businesses. Check is building the infrastructure to power that future, and ultimately we believe we’ll enable thousands of new platforms, millions of businesses, and hundreds of millions of workers.

Andrew Brown

Chief Executive Officer

How do your team's ideas influence the company's direction?

We pride ourselves on a set of values that includes both seeking understanding ("Check Yourself") and driving the change we want to see ("Be an Owner"). That means continually challenging our systems, our processes, our expectations, and our decision-making from the past to ensure we position ourselves for the future.
