The Role

You will be part of a regional sales team and the overall face of Newsela out in the market. As a Growth Sales Rep, you will be responsible for building and strengthening relationships with key decision makers at the school district level across our existing Customer Base. You will implement a strategy aimed at growing our customer revenue base by identifying upsell and expansion opportunities to bring engaging reading content to schools district-wide. In your day to day, you will do everything from pipeline management and forecasting, to designing strategic account plans and managing sales through the entire lifecycle. You will also become well-versed in your territory’s funding, state initiatives, demographics, and K-12 education landscape, which will help inform your overall sales strategy. This is a remote role in the Texas or Oklahoma region.

Why You’ll Love This Role

You will get to represent the future of education, enhance how districts and teachers engage students, and provide time-saving approaches that allow educators to design customized learning for different levels of learners. As an individual contributor who is part of a regional sales team, you will have the opportunity to own your territory, manage the entire lifecycle of a sale, and build new business relationships that bring Newsela’s solution to classrooms district-wide. In addition to achieving your own revenue targets, you will get to work with an enthusiastic, cross-functional team to catapult Newsela’s growth as we scale our national sales organization.

Why We’ll Love You

You are a proven Sales Rep or Strategic Account Manager with 3+ years hitting or exceeding your quota of selling SaaS products (preferably edtech) or digital education solutions in the field. You have demonstrated expertise in seamlessly navigating multiple stakeholders (district and school superintendents, instructional and curriculum directors, and administrators) to engineer the right solution for each customer. You take a consultative approach to sales, and have proven experience building a book of business largely from organic growth. You are a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and can drive sales quickly to a close within the education system. You might also have been a teacher at one point, or have a good grasp of pedagogy and can truly help connect the challenges in the classroom to the solutions Newsela is building.
