Head of Business Development - Stealth Healthcare Startup
ABOUT THE STARTUP:
We are launching a stealth startup, which will build a 2-sided marketplace platform for pain patients to find the best pain management providers in their area. With funding already in place, this startup will capture part of the $83B US pain management market and $300B US Healthcare Business Process Outsourcing markets through data-driven matching to provide personalized patient recommendations and high value customer flow for providers.
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for an exceptional Head of Business Development to join as part of the founding team to launch and scale this disruptive startup.
As the Head of Business Development, you will:
- Oversee development and execution of the company's launch and commercial strategy
- Assess, build and manage a pipeline of small-to-medium sized pain management clinic targets across the New York City metro area to deliver on the company's growth objectives
- Conduct business development activities with product/service partners such as practice management SaaS and other digital players
- Actively maintain a detailed perspective of the business process outsourcing market and the competitive landscape
- Serve as key account manager to own delivery for early commercial activities
- Define the venture's commercial organizational structure for direct-to-clinic sales and manage growing sales and commercial team
- Work with the product team and CEO to align commercial targets with all development plans/activities
- Oversee the development of the KPI's and assessment systems to continually monitor the success of the product in the market; update implementation and operational plans accordingly based on data-driven decisions and analyses
- Help to establish a company culture that is achievement-driven, positive and empowering for all employees
DESIRED EXPERTISE & EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years prior professional experience as a digital health/SaaS Account Executive with small-to-medium clinics in Marketing/Sales/Business Development
- Extremely results driven; hands-on approach to business development
- Highly analytical mindset; strong attention to detail without losing the big picture
- Experience building a sales team previously in a high-growth environment
- Good presentation skills to large audiences (conferences)
- Travel to key customers and stakeholders
- Expertise in understanding the unique needs of pain management providers, with respect to scheduling and appointment tracking is a plus (e.g. physical therapists, PM&R, chiropractors, interventional pain specialists)
