Head of Business Development
About the Role
Yieldstreet is hiring a head of business development, (Head of the “Impala” team to lead a team that is responsible for developing the Investment roadmap, made up of the following functions: (1) analyze and propose new asset classes, investment distribution vehicles, and strategic corporate initiatives; (2) collaborate with existing asset class heads to further expand their businesses and teams; (3) incubate new initiatives, such as new asset classes or distribution vehicles, until a formal handoff; and (4) provide operational support for complex inter-department processes and strive to push for operational excellence for the investment team.
This role is for someone who has a diverse background in both credit, business development, management consulting and FinTech. You will be leading a team that focuses on Impala’s core mission statement: (1) sourcing and shepherding new ideas at Yieldstreet, (2) testing and executing those ideas for suitability and scalability, and then (3) creating the infrastructure for the idea to be scaled and handed off to a new team.
What you'll do:
- Develop and own the Yieldstreet roadmap for investment strategy, portfolio construction and execution planning
- Lead a small business development and credit team to plot Yieldstreet’s investment product future
- Work with Originations and Credit teams to incubate new asset classes, evaluate new investment products, and find the right strategic partners to build lasting relationships and scalable opportunities
- Navigate legal, regulatory and product requirements for successful investment product design
- Underwrite the quality of the transaction
- Prepare and present opportunities for credit committee approval
- Close the transaction and launch the transaction on the YS platform for YS investors
What you'll need:
- Extensive credit experience in a diverse mix of asset classes
- Able to lead a small team, execute independently and deliver results
- A mind for strategy, strategic planning, and project management
- Experience closing private transactions
