Who you areThe Health Insurance Broker on the Health Initiatives team is tasked with comparing the pricing on our master policies with that of small group for customers and prospects. The person in this role is expected to work closely with the Health Initiatives team, providing analysis of the small group market at large, in order to help inform how we provide optionality to our customers. The Health Insurance broker is the buffer between Justworks and our preferred broker partners: they are expected to interact directly with customers and prospects to understand their needs, priorities, and constraints as it relates to providing their team with health insurance, and to make a recommendation between large group and small group health insurance. They are not expected to set up plans, interact with carriers directly, or support employee enrollment and onboarding - those are the responsibility of our preferred broker partner, and our CS team. They are also expected to act as an analyst of the small group market, gathering overall pricing and comparing it to our master policies, collecting intel on carrier entrants and exits, and the quality of the small group market state by state. The person in this role will work closely with the Health Initiatives team, the CS and Sales team, and Risk and Insurance team at Justworks.What you'll do
- Collect pricing for small group insurance across multiple states and carriers, and compare rates and plans to our master policies
- Analyze the small group market state by state, relative to our master policies, making recommendations on where to focus expanding our optionality
- Work directly with Account Managers and Account Executives, joining calls with prospects and customers, and providing sample quotes and pricing to compare to master policies
- Work closely with the Risk and Insurance team to incorporate small group quoting into our entry underwriting practices, collaborating on new tools and processes, and iterating as we grow
Qualifications
- Licensed to sell small group health insurance in the state of New York, and other states
- 5+ years of experience in the insurance space, preferably selling small group insurance
- Strong modeling and analysis skills - financial background a plus
- Experience in tech/SaaS a plus
