Our Academic Partnerships team is looking for an experienced and motivated team member to drive Flatiron’s efforts to deepen collaboration with our academic medical center partners. The Academics team is a critical area of focus for Flatiron, and we are looking for someone who will drive engagement with our partnership network, consisting of NCI-designated comprehensive cancer centers, across our Research and Quality Improvement product offerings. In this role, you will be developing and maintaining close ties to senior leadership within the cancer centers and supporting the establishment of long-term partnerships with those sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and cultivate strong relationships with senior leaders to raise awareness of Flatiron’s offerings and secure support for the development of new partnerships
  • Drive implementations of newer relationships in the first 12-18 months of the partnership, partnering with internal operational teams to ensure success
  • Oversee development of partnership strategy, proposal development, and tailoring of other partner-facing materials
  • Collaborate with and reliably share partner feedback with Flatiron’s team of product managers, engineers, business development leaders, and other cross-functional colleagues
  • Project manage the scoping and internal review of proposed research projects by investigators at our partner sites, acting as a strategic partner to investigators planning to leverage Flatiron data for research
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional Flatiron teams to support strategic planning for academic offerings, including decisions to invest in innovative new offerings
  • Regularly travel to academic partner sites and relevant conferences (anticipated travel: 15-20%, including day trips)

Requirements:

  • You have a B.A. or B.S. (preferred discipline in sciences) from a top university
  • You have 6+ years experience in client-facing roles of increasing responsibility, delivering products or services to healthcare-related stakeholders in organizations such as:
    • Large hospital or academic medical centers
    • Top 5 consulting firm or boutique healthcare or life sciences consulting firm
    • Healthcare IT or analytics companies
  • You have a clear track record of success in developing and managing complex and strategic long term relationships with senior-level stakeholders
  • You understand and respect the common challenges faced by oncology providers and administrators and have experience bringing about mutually beneficial solutions from end-to-end
  • You are flexible, have a start-up mindset, and enjoy a fast-paced environment
  • You have the ability to juggle multiple partner interactions and deadlines simultaneously and the the versatility to collaborate with individuals at all levels and across various functions within academic medical centers
  • You have the agility and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional internal teams, including business development, engineering, delivery and product, and product marketing

Bonus Points:

  • MBA, MD, PhD, MPH a strong plus
  • Experience working in oncology field
  • Experience working in an academic cancer center
  • Experience utilizing healthcare data and/or healthcare IT solutions
