Partnerships Business Development


Outbrain is seeking an entrepreneurial, growth-minded, technically savvy business professional to manage Business Development for our Product Strategy & New Initiatives Group.


Outbrain’s suite of products and services for clients is ever-growing. This role is a unique opportunity to join Outbrain’s Strategy & Product Solutions Group - the team responsible for identifying, exploring and developing new products and new markets.


Your primary responsibility will be developing existing partnerships, initiating new partnerships and new revenue opportunities, while working closely with internal stakeholders on bringing new product offerings to market.


With a natural ability to build long-lasting relationships, strong business acumen and extensive product knowledge, you will be on the front-line of finding mutually beneficial opportunities for partners. 

Your experience and knowledge of the world around us will help shape Outbrain products and ultimately improve the online experience of over 1billion people worldwide.


This is a high visibility position which will give the right candidate the opportunity to work extremely closely with our executive board including but not limited to Outbrain’s founders and CRO. 



Grow revenue by creating, building and managing ecosystem partnerships that in turn boost Outbrain’s core offering for media owners and publishers.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow existing partnerships across the digital publishing and advertising ecosystem for Outbrain’s various product groups (including Engage, Amplify Programmatic, Video, Zemanta and more).

  • Work with VP Corp Dev & Strategic Partnerships to define, prioritise and pursue new partnership opportunities.

  • Represent Outbrain in market, with prospects, partners and at industry trade shows.


  • Proven success managing a portfolio of client relationships, pipeline of business development opportunities, and solution-based selling

  • Experience in strategic partner management to deliver mutual, positive business impact Experience managing and influencing senior, cross-functional stakeholders, both internal and external

  • Ability to work with stakeholders across locations to deliver revenue and projects to timeline

  • Experience leading multiple projects simultaneously with stakeholders around the world

  • Direct negotiations experience with external clients, both commercial and contractual

  • Working familiarity with both the publishing and advertising ecosystems



  • Ability to influence, across both internal functions and external partners

  • Outstanding problem solving abilities, analytical skills, and business judgment

  • Strategic thinker, who can consider strategic and tactical levels simultaneously to propose and build plans

  • Adept at uncovering the business needs of potential partners while developing plans to grow each others’ business

  • Comfortable considering and communicating contractual, technical, financial and business points with internal and external stakeholder



  • Energetic, with a high level of initiative and motivation

  • Decisive and delivery focused, with the ability to form goals quickly and impeccable at follow‐through

  • Highly organized, approaching work in a structured and methodical way, ensuring that projects get executed on time and to expectation

  • Self‐motivated and comfortable moving forward with only directional input; nobody will be writing the to‐do list on your behalf

  • Collaborative; a natural at working inside and across teams in a fast-growth, startup environment

  • Superb communicator, in every scenario, across all stakeholder groups and with all levels of seniority


Education & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent practical experience 

  • 3 years of experience in Business Development or Strategic Partnerships.

  • Ability to travel domestically as required


The Extra Mile - We’d Love it if You:

  • Have experience working inside or with advertising technology (AdTech) companies

  • Have existing relationships with senior stakeholders across either the publishing or digital marketing marketplace

  • Already took new products to market with dependencies on external partners, leading internal and external cross-functional teams

  • Can effortlessly switch modes between questioning and objection handling, competitive selling and value selling

  • Know your way around the content marketing ecosystem
