About Call9: Call9 is breaking the mold of traditional Emergency Medicine and telemedicine while reinventing 911. Our patient-centered proprietary telemedicine platform connects off-site emergency physicians with on-site emergency medicine trained Clinical Care Specialists (CCS). Call9 provides a spectrum of emergency care services at the patient’s bedside in skilled nursing facilities.

Position Summary: The Call9 Payor Sales Leader is responsible for Call9’s managed care portfolio performance for commercial and Medicare Advantage payors. This person will work with leadership on implementation of contracting strategy for Call9; independently negotiate contract language, rates, shared risk and value-based stipulations with payors; monitor contract performance versus expected, and recommend and implement any action needed to maximize arrangements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Call9 payor sales strategies and objectives related to managed care contracting
  • Responsible for rate and language negotiation of payor agreements
  • Design and deliver Value Based Payor agreements, P4P contracts, shared risk etc.
  • Monitor, regularly review and report financial and operational performance of payor contracts versus expectations. Recommend any action needed as a result of contract performance
  • Understand and identify current risks and sources of exposure to Call9 in payor agreements and performance
  • Gather and analyze data and apply methodologies to ensure payor sales success in all target and future markets. Draw preliminary conclusions and project application(s). Identify cross-application of data or analysis, directing efforts of other associates, as needed to ensure Payor Agreements are advantageous to Call9
  • Maintain current detailed working knowledge of all payor contracts and manage Call9 negotiations with such payors
  • Create and implement managed care contracting policies and procedures -- based on leadership feedback and information supplied by other Call9 and Call9 Partner entities -- to maximize Call9 performance in managed care relationships
  • Provide Call9 with accurate and current managed care market intelligence by maintaining a working understanding of local/regional/national trends, conducting competitive payor facing market assessments, staying abreast of payor changes and impact of regulatory environment, staying abreast of changes and impact of payor initiatives including responses to new products entering the marketplace and provide other information to support division reporting initiatives.
  • Provide education on new agreements as they affect stakeholders via written communications or presentations as needed. Anticipate and address SNF Admins and CFO needs for information resulting from new or modified agreements.
  • Develop and maintain cooperative internal working relationships with all parts of the Call9 Inc enterprise to effectively evaluate and assess overall impact of contracting initiatives.
  • Proactively work with Call9 Decision Support and Financial Analytics teams to report and refine reporting of contract performance, analysis and modeling tools.
  • Work closely with Payor Success leaders on operational issues that become contract issues. This includes attendance at payor Joint Operating Committee (JOC) meetings.
  • Strong knowledge of Population Health Management.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a contract negotiator with a provider or payor.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master’s degree preferred (ideally MPH, MPA or MHA)
