The Role

This role will be the first sales development hire at Memo and will be a critical component in the success and growth of the business. Using your personality and creative/strategic thinking abilities, you will be expected to consistently generate outbound leads from targeted campaigns and to schedule first meetings with potential clients.

You will report to the VP of Sales but will have ample opportunity to work cross-functionally with other departments. You work well under pressure, think outside-the-box and are highly self-motivated. This is an exciting opportunity to join a venture backed seed-stage startup sitting at the intersection of data and media.

Responsibilities

  • Own the task of penetrating assigned target accounts whether through outbound calls, cold emails, physical mail, social media or attending industry-specific events
  • Expand and manage list of target accounts
  • Research, prospect, and qualify potential Memo prospects
  • Meet and exceed monthly targets
  • Work with the VP of Sales to build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline
  • Take & log organized notes, gather contact information and nurture contacts post-opportunity
  • Learn and maintain in-depth knowledge of our technology, industry trends, and competition

You have/are:

  • 2+ years of sales experience
  • A team player: you’ll be part of an ambitious team at an early-stage company, where it’s often all-hands-on-deck
  • Curious and adaptable: you’re eager to learn new skills and explore different industries
  • Bias towards immediate action and results
  • Willingness to learn and adapt
  • Consummate multi-tasker who can wear multiple hats
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Persistence and ability to focus on the task at hand
  • Proven ability to deal with ambiguity and collaborate effectively with colleagues, management, and other departments
  • Proven track record of achieving measurable, monthly lead development goals
